Have an D11 325th ingame, but a D40 would be sweet.
Gimmy colors :D

Apparently when he got stateside Baseler had the D-40 painted up to match the colors of his 325th birds. Everything says it's a red cowl from what I can tell.

That'll work, thanks.
I'll leave you alone now :D

Please if your going to do "Big Stud", Please do the orginal. I don't think that there was a P-47D-30 Checkertail in service during the war. After the D-11 they transfered to the P-51B and C. "Big Stud" is still on display in a museum in, I think, Washington State.

hmmmmmm:aok
Checkertails didnt fly the D30 over seas. The above photo was stateside not long before the Checkertails were disbanded. He also flew a P-47N-5-RE 44-88593 stateside as a recruiting ship with "The AAF, Enlist Now" painted on the side of it.

Thought I was clear on the fact that Baseler had the plane painted in his markings when he was stationed stateside.
Never claimed it was a combat aircraft, but it was a D40 and that was what caught my eye :)
Baseler was commanding a base in Brownsville Texas at the time he had this particular Jug

I am not denying that he didn't have those planes, but "Big Stud" is a very recongizable plane with the 325th. I just don't want people to confuse that "Big Stud" with the orginal one. That is why I am asking for the D-11 not the D-30. It is up to you Nopoop, your the one skining it.

Gotta hold off on a razorback 325th ride. Have one ingame already. Only difference being the number and "Stud" nose art.
Postwar I'm stuck too for a submission. Have to wait for the skin revision. Then I'm starting with a clean slate.

IMHO - I think that we should stick to only using skins of combat rides in the game. As nice as it would be to have the choice of our squad colors for all the allied aircraft in the game, I would hate to take up one of the limited skin options with what in essence is only a stateside "hack" ride color scheme that never saw combat. We should be honoring the combat colors of as many units as possible.
Personally, I want to take the opportunity to express my appreciation for the thought and thank NoPoop for the excellent job he did on the P-47D11! I believe its the model that "Herky" Green and company flew on 30 January 1944 when they had one of their biggest scoring days in the MTO.
