Very nice.
Will you work for K-84 skins?
I'd want to see 47th Sentai's paint like that quality.
-
need a good line drawing of the ki84 with rivets and all panels to base the skin off of. if you can find one I will skin it. I really want to go nuts with chipped paint and the ki84 is all about faulty primer and paint flaking off all over :D

Citabria,
Any interest in trying to do one of the 45th FS, 15th FG Coral Gray P40s if I can find good enough photos to get you going?
I've always thought it was an interesting look for the Pacific based P40s

I have the 15th FG History. They had them based at Makin during the Marshalls Campaign.
I'll do some digging for more photos. I'm trying to find one that shows the entire aircraft not just nose shots.
They describe the color as "coral gray". One of the other squadrons in the Group had P39s in the same single color camo
I'll post what I find in a new thread.

Wow, what a great bunch of skins! Wish I could figure out how you achieve that dull look. My Aleut tiger was too shiny..

desaturate the colors. just liek real faded paint looses its color as it gets bleached out you can do similar dull effect with desaturation and lightness in photoshop

Cit, have you run across any A.V.G. P-40Es with the Hells Angels squad insignia on them?
-
the first references i found for an avg p-40e were inaccurate haha. but I found text information from actual avg members on the correct colors and markings for the particular avg p-40e i was modelling.
might buy the book on avg colors and markings though to get more informatino. it is supposed to be very in depth.

I think ive spent a total of 2 hours studing your skins and tring to see what you do, but they never come out the same. I have a few questions for you though:
1. Do you use the Render Clouds effect?
2. Do you use a "Shadow" layer of black and outline some of the rudder and Blur it so it looks darker?
3. I think the biggest question of all is: How do you get your rivits and panal lines to look so 3D and they just seem to flow?
-Just another astonished skinner asking for tips!

1. no
2. sometimes
3. make one layer of black rivets and make the layer transparent and maybe blure it a small bit and also make one layer of white rivets tranparent and dont blur it usually. put the dark rivets above or below the white rivets and off one pixel to one side or the other.
