Ie:split s yoyo and the like
I know these are pretty common to most of you but im sure im not alone :confused

Split-S:
Take right hand, palm down in front of you. Move it forward, rotate thumb to right until palm is up, then push hand towards floor and then behind you. When you finish the palm is facing floor again, but the hand is pointed behind you (instead of ahead of you as at the start).
Yo-Yo:
Take your right hand, palm down at your side, shoulder level. Move it in an arc your left, making the hand rise and fall while you move it left (as if on a rollercoaster).
Does this help? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Welcome to Aces angle! Hehe, these are basic air combat manuevers (terminology you mentioned). Check out lephturns training pages and the links to other training resources as well:
http://users.andara.com/~sconrad/training.htm (http://users.andara.com/~sconrad/training.htm)
There is lot's of good reading material and explanations to what you have been reading in this newsgroup. If you really want some detailed explanations of ACM(air combat manuevers)get Robert Shaw's book-Fighter Combat : Tactics and Maneuvering. It's really dry reading, but will answer just about any question you can think of when it comes to ACM.
Also, if you want(highly recommended), come to the Aces High training arena and we can show you these manuevers (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). However I do recommend you check out the link I posted above and read up a little first. It will help you understand somewhat and also help you figure out what questions you really want to ask and have answered.

Here is some terminolgy that you'll hear on the channels:
"RTB"= Return to base
"AFK"= Away From Keyboard (probably getting a cold brew)
"BRB"= Be right back, same as AFK
"WTG"= Way to go, congradulatory statement on a job well done.
"OTW"= On the way (To probably bail my bellybutton out)
"LOL" = Laughing out loud-someone told a funny.
"ROTFLOL"= Rolling on the floor laughin out loud-someone farted on Roger Wilco, its real funny!
"BARBIE-FIRE"= Spitfire, tons of people fly them, you'll find out why..enough room for a Ken doll too!
"CHICKEN OF THE SEA"= F4U-1C, known for it's irreverent firepower and it's ability to run like a chicken when it doesn't have altitude on you. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
"RUNSTANG"= First 3 letters say it all.
"DRUNKS"= Paratroopers dropping out of C47's
"GOONEY"= C47, which is always dead meat if spotted by enema.
"ENEMA"= Enemy
Thousands of others, but these are global.

Angle, take a some time and watch these videos:

If you are really serious about this stuff, go to Amazon.com and order Robert Shaw's "Fighter Combat".
-
Not to mention that there are tons of ACM sites scattered around the net. http://scramble.hypermart.net/ (http://scramble.hypermart.net/)
Or give me a yell & i'll send you a list of good stuff to pick from.
cc= copy, confirm= straight out of "flight of the navigator, double mike click, ie I understand"
AA or AAA or Ack ground based defensive guns placed around Airfields or other targets.
Stay out of it, it's deadly
Rgr = roger,
Good luck & yell if you need help.

Can I ask another term - jabo ???? Haven't heard that before.
Thanks
-
Jabo, came from a German word(no idea what word) but I understand it to be, fighter ground attack with bombs and rockets.
-
Jabo= From the german word "JAGDBOMBER"...literally "fighter-bomber"
a fine example of Jabo was Typhoon...or P47...or Fw190F/G...
