"Electric Lighting, illumination by means of any of a number of devices that convert electrical energy into light. The types of electric lighting devices most commonly used are the incandescent lamp, the fluorescent lamp, and the various types of arc and electric-discharge vapor lamps (see Electric Arc)."

Well, I laid out some cash and went with the same model that SaburoS ( and I think Grun) has. It's a Canon EOS 20D

I used to be very much into photography..darkroom and all. After I saw SaburoS's pics, it made me realise that digital was "here"

Anyway, real excited about getting back into photography. Since I bought the camera, I have have not had time to leave my house with it though.....

Like my model making...this is one of my hobbies I have missed.

Start taking some good pics around the house for us. Start with alarms, doors, windows, login window on AH and any other interesting objects. Photos of females wearing little or nothing is also wanted.

thank you.

I don't know that anyone else has the 20D yet.  Grun has a D70, Torque has a 10D... Saburo might have bought a 20D, but he definately has a different canon that he used for the airshow pics (20D wasn't out then).

How do you like it?  What lenses do you have for it?  I'm starting to find that even at $1500, the camera is one of the cheaper investments in the hobby.

I belive Saburo told me that he bought the 20D.  I have the Nikon D70.

MiniD is right about the costs, once you get get into buying  high quality lenses the body will end up being the cheap investment.  Thankfully I'm not there yet as I have only spent about $700 on lenses; $300 for the included kit lens (a bargain), $300 for the 70-300 and $100 for my 50  f1.8..

I would hope so, I hear its a $100,000 dollar lens.. Maybe Nikon should  give you a small Japanese car to drive and store the lens in... ;)

I love it so far....pretty amazing camera. Too many things to list really.
I only have one lens, the  Canon EFS 18-55mm ( equivalent to a  28-90mm)  bundled with it.

This weekend I'm going to try to get a nice 300mm lens, and some filters. Later I'll pick up  a wide angle lens.

If I was a 19 year old girl with large, firm breasts who had too much to drink and came home with you I would run very quickly in the opposite direction after seeing your sleep chamber.

That picture has "I have a pit in my basement" written all over it.

Welcome to the club, Nuke!!
Yes, I have the 20D. The Canon 300mm F/4.0L IS I highly recommend for Airshows.
That kit lens you got you'll retire soon. It's not that good.
Highly recommended(depending on what you shoot):
70-200mm F/2.8L IS
24-70mm F/2.8L
85mm F/1.8
50mm F/1.4
17-40mm F/4.0L
70-200mm F/4.0L
400mm F/5.6L

I'm looking to get Canon's new 10-22mm F/3.5-4.5 USM for my super wide angle needs. Just waiting for the reviews/test results.

For compact flash, get Sandisk's Ultra II series. Best performance for the buck (2GB for about $185.00). Shoot in RAW as that will give you best image results. I really recommend you get Photoshop CS.

I recommend you get the battery grip as well. You can shoot all day without changing your batteries.

If doing a lot of indoor shooting, invest in an external flash unit.

Heck, this is probably making your head spin. I'll stop now. :D

I knew right away that NUKE's new toy was a camera when he so pointedly failed to post a picture of it! He hasn't figured it out yet.

You do it like this...

No, I didn't have a second camera.

I bought this a few weeks ago. 4 megapixels, takes good pics ^ and even movies with sound. It needs to be this small to fit my girly hand. I still think I look too manly, and should have shaved my arm before doing this pic.

Mmmm, digital keeps getting better and better.  I'm still having fun with my Nikon 995 and 775.  Too lazy and cheap to go back to all the heavy expensive stuff.  But glad you guys are staying with state of the art -- great to see your pics.

I've really enjoyed this lil beauty. It's a little scuffed up, from my backpacking trip to Yellowstone last summer, but it took a lickin, and keeps on tickin. The all-aluminum body (that's aluminium, for you Brits) is a big plus.;)
