The Ju188 is functionally a heavy. It has good defensive guns, a larger payload than the B-17G, good speed and, if the Ju88A-4 is any indication, is very tough.

I think the Ju188 was also a long range escort fighter for german bombers since most german fighters couldn't escort them all the way. If we ever do get it be nice to have a Bomber version and a Fighter verison.

Scrap,
The Ju188E-1 is a low performance Ju188. It was designed to take the engines used in the A series, but they weren't available so they used less powerful engines in the stopgap E series.
What we'd want, especially considering the need for a mid-war Luftwaffe bomber, would be the Ju188A-1 or Ju188A-2.
-
You are 100% correct.
I just thought that I had posted only E model spec's (considering my reference had put E-1 in the header). However, if you look at the info provided... various specifications for many varients of the 188 are provided.
-
Night fighter varient for the 188 would be nice too. Especially with those upward-firing 'Strange Music' guns. (Yes, I know the translated name is not correct...but I can never remember the german name)
-
I would like the P39N1 1st with its 6 50 cals and 1 37 prop mounted cannon : DROOLING :

Schrage Musik which translates to "Slanted Music", which in English is called Jazz.
