...cause my wife SAID I could!
What's your excuse?

My feelings of this election are the same choices I had in 2000...Dumb and Dumber. So, I will be voting for dumb, rather than dumber.
That said, I predict that if the Boston Red Sox win the world series, Kerry wins the election.

Yeah...but WHAT are the ODDS!?

Uuuuuuuhhhh? Weren't you praising you CiC a few month ago? Weren't you saying that going to war in Iraq was a bright move??
Now you're calling him 'Dumb'?? Flip-flop alert!
Note: I mostly agree with your last post (I would've said dumber and dumber) but I don't quite understand this radical change...
Or has your son cracked your BBS password?

You need to study my posts about Bush. My candidate was beat in the 2000 primaries, but you probably weren't around on the boards then.
Yes, I praise the CiC for going into Iraq, and if you do a search you'll see my displeasure for his failure to get a Gov't going there soon after invasion.
Do you homework son.
Bush is the best we have...even if he is screwing up, the Democraps we've had in the past, and current, would screw up, and screw US even worse.
And I still feel that going into Iraq and drawing every terrorist-wanna-be to the Middle East instead of the U.S as a brilliant move. No terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11/2001. That is indeed brilliant.

That doesn't equate to the attacks being prevented.
DHS employees consider us lucky we haven't had another attack here.

Facts are facts. Deal with it (or just blindly believe that luck has played a role in all of it) Your choice.

You're right, I just stated a fact.
Of course, DHS employees don't know **** about our homeland... security...

Ripsnort,
Do you really think that a terrorist network (like the one which caused 9/11) successfully set up and laying dormant in the US would have packed up and gone back to Iraq to shoot a couple of RPGs at M1 Abrams or to blow themselves up along with a couple of GIs when they could have done much worse on your soil?
No terrorist attacks since 9/11 has 3 possible causes IMO:
- there wasn't such a dormant network
- there isn't a dormant network anymore: the feds, NSA and CIA did their job and neutralized them
- they're there, waiting for a better opportunity to wreak havoc because they don't give a crap about Iraq...maybe because SH had nothing to do with AQ?
OTOH, US invasion turned Iraq into a recruiter's paradise for AQ & Co.
Bright move indeed...
And you'll excuse me for not having the time to study your 16k+ posts...RL got in the way :o

I hate how everyone calls it a competition of Dumb and Dumber.
George Bush has done really well. You might have said that in 2000, but now you have seen it, how can you keep saying it?

Second, Bush is ahelluva lot better choice than Gore and 3 times as good as Clinton (Clinton is just popular with your type because you're greedy, your 401k flourished under a rare technology boom, and the market has corrected itself)
Can you answer me this: What was Clintons legacy? What the hell did he DO for 8 years?
But I digress. :)

I see it as either voting with the men or voting with the single women (married women tend to favor bush).
If you are not a woman or a colored person or flaming unhappy gay or a personal injury lawyer or a teacher... or are not afraid of firearms or Hot Rods...
you will man up and vote for Bush...

Some people just regurgitate what they see on tv and read in the newspaper. They think what they're told to think.
In fact, the parties depend on that.

I wish I were Lazs.
metrosexual (met.roh.SEK.shoo.ul) n. An urban male with a strong aesthetic sense who spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle.
—metrosexuality n.
An example:
At dinner the other night, my date listed the calorie count of the main entrees, raising an eyebrow at my chicken Alfredo selection after he had ordered a salad. I saw him check his reflection in the silver water pitcher three times. During dessert, he looked deeply into my eyes and told me he thought what we have together is very special. It was our third date.
It was then that I realized why my dating life has been as mysterious as the Bermuda Triangle since I arrived in Washington. This city, unlike any other place I've lived, is a haven for the metrosexual. A metrosexual, in case you didn't catch any of several newspaper articles about this developing phenomenon (or the recent "South Park" episode on Comedy Central), is a straight man who styles his hair using three different products (and actually calls them "products"), loves clothes and the very act of shopping for them, and describes himself as sensitive and romantic. In other words, he is a man who seems stereotypically gay except when it comes to sexual preference.

I see alot of people not really voting FOR Kerry....but rather against Bush. Pretty sad the kerry is all the dems could put up.
-
If the Kerry/McCain ticket rumor had been true... woulda been quite a show.
-
Oregon looks like it'll be a close race, so I almost voted for Kerry. Well, not almost, but I thought about it for half a second, well, less than half a second, but I did think about it.
-
I like bush.
-
I don't like Kerry:lol
-
i like bacon.
-
My Texas ballot had badnarik on it....but not Nader. weird
-
Same here, he didn't get enough valid signatures to get on the ballot in Oregon, and his lawsuit to get on anyway failed.
-
I haven't sent my oregon ballot in yet, is it really close there? Dangit, I want to vote for Badnarik.

Bush is one of our greatest Presidents.
-
I think it would be a great story if Badnarik, who is currently off the radar, woke up on the 3rd with a significant share of the vote. Like, in the 1-2% area. While that may seem relatively small, it'd be huge.
So huge that it aint gonna happen...
But, Nadar is getting around 1%, and he remains a big story.
If Badnarik doubles or even triples Nader's result, then voila, you've got a new player. That can only be good in the long run.

Nash, do you remember when Ross Perot was running in 1992?
He was running even with Bush and Clinton until he got pissed about "operatives" trying to mess up his daughters wedding.
He then announced he was out of the race. He came back into the race just before the election, *only* 15% in the polls, and won the first Presidential debate ( Perot, Bush, Clinton)
Despite having pulled out of the race ( taking all the momentum away, and his whacky VP...he got 19% of the popular vote.
Now those were fun times.
-
Yeah... they sure were...
The guy completely crumbled. Turned insane in a matter of months, right in front of everyone.
He prolly ended up doing more damage to even the idea of viable alternatives as is possible.
There are a few things that stick out in my mind about that election. One, of course, was his slide into dementia. Another was "a giant sucking sound" and lastly, was Dennis Miller acting like the complete media slut and trotting out his pom-poms in support of Perot every chance he could get.

I saw one of Perot's infomercial and I had to say I was impressed with ALOT of what the guy had to say. Not your typical politician.
Too bad though he is a prime example of a spoiler.......didn't his VP fall asleep at one of the debates?
-
Ross Perot was great. His VP was an old Admiral..very old. He was chosen as a temp. VP, but became the actual VP after Ross left the race, then came back.
Perot was a breath of fresh air. His Reform party could have been a true alternative, but Perot wanted to keep it all about himself.

Perot entered the race as a stunt. Egonomiacal billionaire shakes up the system, ect. It suddenly became clear to him he had an actual shot at winning the election and he folded pushing his supporters to his intended goal Clinton, the anti-regime. He re-entered after he is safely clear of winning. I personally disliked the put downs of Stockdale. You want a true look at republican tactics, dig into their attack on Stockdale.

not that i'm putting the man down but didn't he fall asleep during a debate? I remember seeing that on TV once.

I agree with most of what you have said. Perot was probably amazed at the support he got. He originaly was on Larry King and said he would run if he was put on the ballet in all 50 states......then he WAS! I'm sure he didn't exspect that.
Perot was VERY popular and may well have won.

I think that was an SNL bit. They rode Stockdale hard.

I remember the dana carvey bit they did on Perot. He was on Every channel doing his infomercial.
To be completly honest.....that election was my first and he was the first president I voted for. I beleived in what he was saying.

That was a funny bit ! Perot driving a car, telling Stockdale to get out to check something.....then trying to take off and ditch Stockdale....only to have the old guy running along side the car at great speed! Was funny, great analogy.
-
Just did a google on it. I guess the guy did fall asleep during a debate.
-
It could be true he nodded off...could ya really blame him? Jeezus H. Christ, the man survived hell on Earth in Hanoi. Was he really supposed to stay awake while Quayle was talking?
Yeah, the Carvey/Hartman bit was an instant classic. "Look! There's a deer! Yep, there's one of nature's wonders. Why don't you get out for a closer look!"

CC not baggin on the guy was just curious

It was weird, whatever happened.... but it was the Veep debates so I prolly wasn't paying too much attention but, wasn't the whole thing a result of his hearing aid being turned off?
Like, him staring down because he didn't hear the question. Looked like he took a nap.
Could be wrong, but I remember something like that...
-
Did'nt think you were. I honestly could not remember if he did or not.

one word..... "gridlock!" hehe

I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm "smarter" than Nash and rmp......so love me.
-
Once again....Nash to the rescue. I kinda remember something about his hearing aid because they had beaten him so badly they burst his eardrum and caused permanant hearing damage. Seriously, Stockdale should never have been rolled out to the jackals. He was a portrait of a moral, honest, patriotic American. Something that Perot thought politics was lacking.

the poor guy was never meant to be Perot's VP.

LANDSLIDE BUSH!!
when history bears out Bush to be another Reagan, the "dumb and dumber" whiners will be silenced

LOL Eagler, do you realize that your appreciation of somebody being dumb or clever is by using yourself as reference...
I think he's the dumbest US president so far...by a great margin (at least since I'm old enough to know them...that goes back to Carter). He can't speak, he stays for minutes frozen like a deer caught by headlights at night when he learns about 9/11 (don't tell me that he was 'thinking'! It's just revealing of his leadership 'abilities'), he can't explain his decisions other than by his 'feelings' (oh...Hitler did the same btw), he lets his (pseudo?)religious beliefs influence his acts, he proudly claimed that he rarely reads books...
