REDSOX 10 YANKEES 3
CAN YOU SAY CHOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:rofl
-
Game 3, what was it, 19-7? :D
Oh well, Boston earned it all the way. Glad, yet upset that they won it. Oh well, too bad Houston is gonna ruin it for em!
I call Houston because of Clemens on the mound.
-
I thought A-Rod was gonna squirt a few. He's an albatross.:rofl
WTG Boston! Sadly you will lose to the Astros in 5.:aok

wtg BoSox

<--- Yankees Fan from CT....
Ok, ok, you guys earned it, it was a fun series to watch, and congratulations.... We'll be back
And, as a fan from CT, and being only 2 hours away from Boston, I will sincerely cheer for the Redsox to win it all. That many drunken, wildly excited college girls? Throw on a BoSox hat, swallow the pride, and enjoy the ride.

A little of topic..
I remember when Arizona won the world series, beating the Yankies. I was torn between the home team and the Yankies, having been so soon after 911.
But now I'm all better and hate the Yankies once again. :)
-
Oh well. What can ya say? As much as it pains me to say this.....Boston earned it all the way. Their pitching is much deeper than ours. All I know is that I wouldn't want to be anywhere near George Steinbrenner today.
Now that our season is over..................GO HOUSTON!!!!!!
:D

Houston has a good shot at winning it all.....
if they take Dan Miceli out in a boat and throw him overboard with an anvil tied to his feet. All that guy is good for is giving up game winning homers so far in this St. Louis series.

You think Torre is going to be kept after this disaster? Who is gonna take the fall for old Steinbrenner.... bet his check writing hand really hurts now.

Poor Brian Cashman, gonna be a tough day for him. The Yankees will reload next year, probably with half of our players.
No one thinks St. Louis will win? I think they have a strong ball club. But Roger Clemens coming back to play against Boston in the World Series would be something, huh?
-
St. Louis has a strong chance of winning. Their lineup is lights out. You cant really pitch around pooholes. With walker ahead of him and then rolen and edmunds you are kinda screwed.
Dont forget houstons long record of choking.
I am one nervous astros fan.
Go Stros!!!!!!

As a long time New Englander (now transplanted) nothing was sweeter than watching the NY Yankees choke the big one. GOD IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!!
Makes Greg Norman look good.
I wonder what the idiot with the "Not in our house" sign did with it?
Just for the record, beating the NY swine doesn't mean the curse has ended....... :aok
Got a long way to go..........

Booo!
The classy thing to do would be to say, "GO RED SOX, WIN FOR THE AMERICAN LEAGUE".
I remember long ago, Boston Celtics were losing the playoffs to Philly. As the end was obvious, the chant went up in the "Gahden", BEAT L A, BEAT L A.....that's class....
Oh what am I doing? Trying to imbue class to a YANKEE fan?
Nevermind. :D

So sweet. So happy.

Well, well, well. If I wanted advice on being "classy", the LAST person I would listen to would be a combative BoSox fan referring to Yankee fans as idiots and the team as swine. That would be like me asking for lessons on the basic principles of accounting from the Enron CFO. HELLO...pot, kettle.
As for rooting for Houston, being a transplanted Yankee living in Texas....DAMN STRAIGHT! GO ROCKET!
:D

Go rocket, indeed...we've been shelling him for years now!
Worst move after the babe was letting roger go...but as much as I like him, he must go down, and go down early :)

lol, you struck a nerve Talon.
And they are not swine, they are the evil empire.
Hey, does Dan Duquette still think Roger Clemens was in the "twilight" of his career eight years ago?

Yeah, I bet they keep Torre. He's done great since he became manager. Its Brian Cashman that I bet is gonna take a spill, if anyone.

We Will Return
and with a bigger payroll than ever, I'm figuring its going to cost Uncle George about 2.5 million a win next year.

Im not a boson fan but I hate.. read that DETEST the Yankees.
Bosox you just haveta do one last thing .
WIN THE WORLD SERIES
so I can finally stop hearing that $)#(*^%)$@)%$^$(
1918 chant
My god that is the most annoying thing I've ever heard
Even if you dont at least you have a chant of your own now
2 0 0 4
I do feel kinda sorry for the Yankee team though,
cause that cheekbones Steinbrenner is gonna take it out on someone rather then placing the blame where it belongs.

Too bad Yankee Stadium showed the true Yankees "class". I heard on ESPN today after the network coverage had stopped they turned out the lights while the BoSox players were still celebrating on the field. Bad form.
I'm not surprised. The Yankess are a cut and dried issue. You either like them, or you hate them. As a little boy I thought there were only 3 baseball teams. Yankees, Dodgers and Cardinals. They were the only teams you ever saw in film or TV. They were the media darlings of ancient days. Then my grandmother introduced me to real baseball. She introduced me to Willie Mays.
She was a serious Willie Mays. That just didn't seem to match my normally very reserved, hard working grandmother living on a West Texas farm. "Say Hey Willie!" she would shout when he made a great play...and that was pretty often. She and I watched the NBC saturday afternoon games religiously. It was usually the late game and Granny's fried chicken in front of the 17" black and white Zenith when I got to visit. Mmmmmmmmmmmm....
My grandparents were very well off. They owned large parcels of land and mineral rights in Texas. But you could'nt tell it by looking at them. They lived extremely modest. No frills. They didn't have big shiney cars, flashy clothes or a color TV. Apparently, Granddad was tight with a dollar and a bit of a skeptic. I heard many stories that he buried his cash in Prince Albert cans out in the pasture because he did'nt trust banks (and NO you can't come visit with a metal detector).
I never understood how big a bone of contention (or that one even existed) that a color TV was between my Granny and Granddad. They never fought or even had harsh words that I knew of. I soon learned there was one thing that they had a difference of opinion on.
My Granddad died in April 1971 at age 76 of prostate cancer. It was a short illness of only a few months since they did'nt frequent doctors unless somebody had a broken leg or worse. 2 months later Granny bought a brand new top of the line remote control 19" Zenith Color TV. She finally was able to watch her Willie Mays in color for the twilight of his career.
I rooted for Willie and the Giants then Mets. But I became a fan of the Big Red Machine. You can have Pete Rose, Johnny Bench was "The Man" in my book. He became my Willie Mays and inspiration to play baseball.
Even tho the Senators moved to Arlington and became the Texas Rangers in '71, my Granny never never saw a Major League baseball game in person. But, he never missed another saturday afternoon game in color for the rest of her life.

It customary to offer the visiting team owners, a Box seat, The first two games the Yankees decided they didn’t want to, so they blew it off, The Sox of course did it, but the Yankees were to embarrassed to take the offer after havening not done it for the Sox.
They also dragged out Bucky F***ing Dents father to through out the first pitch at game seven, for those of you who don’t know what that means, lets just say you find your wife with another man, and they invite you to the wedding.

The Redsox are the grand masters of choking and they managed to beat the Yankees. Right now it's Houston 2, Cards 4 in the top of the 8th.... Too close to be safe for the Cards, especially facing Beltran.
Kudos to Boston for an epic comeback... However, the next world champion team will be determined tonight... The Bambino will not be denied.
My regards,
Widewing

So, tell me NY fans, who gets the goat award?
A-fraud for his ***** slap to arroyo?
Sheff for his comments about how boston was 'a bunch of characters' before it was over?
brown for breaking his hand and leaving you with mussina as your ace and lieber as your #2?
i have a lot of respect for guys like jeter and williams and matsui. they uphold the professionalism that the yankees have always been known about. however it was the 3 guys steinbrenner brought in (especially arod and sheff) who really showed which team was the 'characters' in this series.
brown will never pitch another game for ny again.
i hope gary 'no reason i've been on 6 seperate teams' sheffield retires. his attitude is tired.
and arod. whooooooo. what a waste of money.
maybe you should trade him for some pitchers who aren't concerned with hitting things.
thing is, so many contracts locked in that the yanks are gonna have to keep with most of these guys next year. it'll take a 250mil payroll to even out the team with how they've emptied their farm system.
