Title: Who said this?

A recent article quoted me -- accurately -- as saying "the best place to initiate the death penalty is at 2 a.m. at the ATM when someone comes up to take your money." While that may sound flippant, I remain convinced that an armed citizenry -- and the threat of instant, violent death for those who prey upon others -- is the best safeguard against crime.

That said, I oppose capital punishment in our legal system. My reasoning is simple: I do not trust government to make life and death decisions well, and I therefore prefer not to give government the power to do so when it can be avoided.

He argues that he's neither left nor right but a "second dimension" that adds something new to the political mix. Libertarians believe in the free market, slashing taxes, cutting government spending and regulation, and defending civil liberties. This plays to both the right and left, depending on where you focus. Badnarik can emphasize parts of the party's platform that will be music to both Red and Blue ears. In North Carolina, he can emphasize law and order and gun rights (Libertarians are strong Second Amendment supporters). When asked about the death penalty by the Wilmington, N.C., Star News, he sounded like a promoter of vigilante justice when he replied, "In my opinion, the best place to initiate the death penalty is at 2 a.m. at the ATM when someone comes up to take your money." In San Francisco or Seattle, he can emphasize his opposition to the drug war, rail against banning gay marriage, promise to bring the troops home from Iraq immediately, and pledge to rescind the Patriot Act. In our discussion, he bashed Bush more than Kerry. It's not that he's inconsistent or pandering – it's just that the Libertarian philosophy cuts the pie in a wholly different way.

Who said this...

"A cult is any group that has a form of godliness, but does not recognize Jesus Christ as the unique son of God.... One test of a cult is that it often does not strictly teach that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who Himself is God manifested in the flesh.... Christian-oriented cults include the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), the Worldwide Church of God, Christian Science, Unity, Unitarianism, The Way International, Rosicrucian Society of America, Bahai, Hare Krishna, Scientology, the Unification Church, and the Jehovah's Witnesses"

or this

"To see Americans become followers of Islam is nothing short of insanity.... The Islamic people, the Arabs, were the ones who captured Africans, put them in slavery, and sent them to America as slaves. Why would the people in America want to embrace the religion of slavers.
"

or even this?

"I think "one man, one vote," just unrestricted democracy, would not be wise. There needs to be some kind of protection for the minority which the white people represent now, a minority, and they need and have a right to demand a protection of their rights.

I'm asking because I don't know any better.

But does he speak the general opinion of Libertarians when he says these?

Title: Armed citizens

Washington DC has an extremely high crime rate and guns are illegal (meaning the law abiding citizens don't have them).

I'd like a punk in DC to (at least) BELIEVE I may be armed.   Might make him think twice.

Read Ann Coulter's new book.  I am borrowing from one of her editorials.

The quotes I posted are from Pat Robertson, a person George Bush obviously consulted before the Iraq invasion. I find it creepy.
