So went to see it last night. Good date flick, has some scarey points to make um jump but thats not why I am writing. When we get in the theater we notice a huge amount of children in the theater. Not high school kids but children, 5 and 6 year olds. I actually checked my ticket to make sure we were in the right theater.
This thing is rated R and has some gory moments and a couple of scenes that can really scare ya. Needlessto say after the first scene kids start crying with the "parents" trying to comfort them.
WTF is wrong with people now days? I wonder if it could be called child abuse.

Too many morons in the world today, the idea of excercising judgement and/or telling your kids "no" hasn't occured to them.

I say the samething to myself when i see parents taking their kids to McFatos.

I saw that in the trailer and I thought it was freaking hilarious.

I see this at base theaters all the time. The movies are cheap and the parents don't want to hire a babysitter so they bring kids of all ages along with them. I remember seeing black hawk down and there were little kids in the theater....i was shocked parents would want their kids seeing gore and violence like this.

my bad it is pg-13. Its on the edge of R, least from what I saw. Still shouldnt be 5 year olds at that movie.

Why not? I can remember seeing some movies when I was very small that gave me nightmares. I feel that is much better than being protected from everything bad and growing up in a teletubbies world. It isn't a bad thing for little kids to learn that not everything is happy and harmless.
Only thing I can think of that makes it bad doesn't really have much to do with the kid; the crying might get annoying for the other people in the theater.

It's rare that I see a (mostly younger) parent that's not a waste of carbon these days. What's worse is their kids will grow up and be twice as bad.
That being said, is The Grudge any good? I've been debating seeing it, but it's been compared to The Ring, which I was less than impressed with.
edit - To clarify my point. It has more to do with letting kids run rampant than what you'd let them watch in your own home.

I saw several families in the theater when I went to see "Blade II". Children down to 2 years old with them (walking, but still diapered). I've yet to be to an R rated flick this year that didn't have small children in it. Hell... a man brought his whole family (youngest at about 10 I'd guess) to see "Team America". I'm still shaking my head about that one too.

Saw it. A few scary moments. Borrowed too much from The Ring which I found to be distracting.
