that there is an increase in the number of planes crashing, or at least more of them are being reported on network news.

Or maybe I'm just noticing them more.

They crash everday. Just not everyone makes the news.

Nothing, no one, and everything is not perfect.

Lotta planes in the world, chances are SOMETHING is going to happen. It all depends whos there to say it first on the news.

I used to work for an aerospace company, and one of the jobs I had was to develop a new database of commercial aircraft which recorded commercial movements (sales, leases etc.). The database also recorded when a plane discontinued service, including all crashes. I did a search on the word "killed" in that database. The list (and in particular its length) was staggering. :eek: And that was in 1985...
