I've been reading grunt books lately. I've put down the aircombat theme for now and changed to ground theater novels. WWII to present.
Been doing some surfing etc... on the subject. theres a ton of info out there, not all substantiated. But a book is pretty credible.

Yeah I like the look on that lead guys face on the cover. He looks like hees gona zap somebody. I guess I got the book because it had a cool cover then read it and it was well written. Anyways Im openminded to any recommendations on a good post D-Day book.

Best Vietnam war nonfiction I ever read was "Brennan's War", and I've read a few.

Read a bunch over the years on Vietnam, the best I have read was...
Guns up!
By Johnnie Clark
About him being a Marine M60 gunner.
great read.
-
"The Things They Carried" and "if I die in a combat zone" by Tim O'Brian were pretty good.
My favourite is still "Dispatches" by Michael Herr. Not a combat book per se, just the journal of the journalist, great read!

Type_Char, I have the sequel to that book. Awesome book.

I'm working my way through that one, too, along with a few others that I keep around to read depending on what mood I'm in. That's a great book. I can't believe B&N had it in the bargain section.

Best Vietnam era book I've read is Chickenhawk

I always though Chicken hawk was over rated. A good read but the auther I think has issues with blaming everyone but himself for his problems.
