Title: Van Helsing
Post by: Sandman on October 25, 2004, 10:27:34 PM
Saw it on DVD during the weekend. I have two words.

C-A-T-A-S-T-R-O-P-H-I-C  -  A-B-O-R-T-I-O-N

The story is all over the place... Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula, Werewolf, and even some alien style pod things.

About 2/3 through it, I finally just turned it off.

Skip this blunder... go see Hell Boy... it's much better.

I caught just enough of it to go to sleep thinking about Kate Beckinsale ( not sure about the spelling, sure about her being ***** hot)

Wait, so Van Helsing was bad?  Say it ain't so, Joe, 'cause it looked so good in the previews! (blatant sarcasm)  :p

Amen! KB in vinyl!

Saw VH in the theater just because it had KB and HJ in it. IF she hadn't died at the end, I may have been able to walk out of the theater without hiding my face. As she did, there was nothing  to keep me from feeling like I'd not wasted money. Well, maybe the brunette bride.

DVD extras are "almost" redeeming. Great set of behind the scenes/making of stuff, and there's a bonus disc with all three original b&w versions of Dracula, Frankenstein, and Wolfman.

May have to see Serendipity some time just to get a KB fix. Not sure if I can stomach Leotardo to see her in The Aviator.

Ahhh... a man who know's his kate.  Serendipity does it for me too.  Underworld was good, but she moves me in Serendipity.

Everyone else... heed sandman's warning.  It will be a painfull day when I have to purchase VanHelsing on DvD.

Yea, sadly I paid $8 to see it at the theater a few months back.

As the old addage goes, "there's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back"
