If the Washington Redskins, in their home game nearest the presidential election, defeat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, President Bush will be reelected on Tuesday.
That's if the string of White House incumbent victories in the 18 elections since 1933 continues this year. This Redskins connection started when President Roosevelt won over Alf Landon.
Article was in the local Potomac News, Oct. 28, B5 -- sorry, no on-line link to it.
Then again, winning or losing strings usually end sometime, e.g., Boston Red Sox in the World Series.
Anybody have any other election connection projections like this?

The Pack is on the up swing

Bah Bush is gonna win hands down. The Weekly Reader Kids said so. Not much of a football fan but if I had to watch a game between the Skins and Packars I'd go for the Skins.

if the sun rises on Nov 2, Bush will cream the wishy washy liberal ****

Oh oh, Green Bay beat Washington 28-14. Will 71 years of incumbent president victories end with George W?

Ba da bop ba ba... I'm lovin' it!

President Bush got re-elected, so another prediction string bites the dust.
Actually, if not for a hotly disputed call that nullified a Washington touchdown late in the game, the prediction streak might have continued.

Funny, I actually just searched for this thread to double check how it was suppose to go.
All these streaks getting broken, Democrats not sending out their lawyers, individuals attempting to convert lions to Christianity... the apocolypse is upon us!

I can't believe Coach Gibbs conceded the game!

At the time the call against washington was questionable becuase they called the wrong number. But I have seen footage explaining it since that has the back crossing to the right side of the line and not reseting. It was acctually clear cut except for the number they called. I think they called the number on the guy that scored..
wierd year for breaking old voodoos.

four hurricanes come to mind ...
it all means something, just not sure what :)

I was at the game. Skins got screwed, therefore the results are not valid. Redskins' lawyers are working on a recount as we speak.
