to be honest, i was not following US elections much... but if supporters of Kerry are picking on my country just because this guy forgot we are supporting our allies, i wish Bush won't move from the White House.
I know we are a small and poor (in terms of economy, compared to USA) country. I don't expect non-euros to know where my country is located or so... but i would expect some more respect from our allies. ok... maybe i put it another way... i don't expect to be respected.. and i don;'t care about it much, but i expect my country to be respected especially when Polish soldiers died in Iraq. Yesterday a Polish woman (working for an US Army) was kidnapped by soem terrorost freaks and of course they requested us to move our soldiers form Iraq - the answer was NO WAY... and (i hope it won't happened) that woman can lost her life there as many others form many countries.
If in exchange supporters of that Kerry guy can't show some respect to my country (not me in person) - screw them.
now you can forget about Poland.

Why not expect non euros to know where/who you are. A country with 40+ million citizens should be known thru the world.

Dont believe all the hype. During the debate where this originated the context of the topic was how America is carrying the majority of the burden in Iraqi. There was never anything of ill content spoken about Poland. The context was in the size and cost of present forces on the ground in Iraqi. Nothing more, nothing less.. Thanks, too you and your countrymen for support....
Edit: I know where poland is. My chic's last name is czyznik shortened some generation ago from czyznikousky or something like that.. 8)

"The context was in the size and cost of present forces on the ground in Iraqi. Nothing more, nothing less.."
As i said. I'm not following yor elections... it's hard to do it from here. I just got the link and reacted. Some of that stuff can be funny (imo) some other is not (imo). As it's "sponsored" by some Kerry supporters, my reaction was (and still is) i wish he won't win it.
But above that of course i wish every single folk in US everything best, no matter is he preferes Bush over Kerry or opposite. I mean, i don't care who you are voting for as it's your choice and i still wish you luck with anything.
My previous post was against picking on Poland not agains anyone in person.
USA
btw., Maniac. Sure it would be cool if "world" knows where Poland is, but we have no military power that someone could be afraid of... no economic powers that would made us important and so on... so i don't expect that everyone know where the Poland is :) I just hope that Poland, wherever it is, will be respected. That is really all i do care about :)
-
on a side note...
I'm not sure, but it's nothing wrong in asking a question:
if we judge the costs of sending troops to Iraq and keeping them there, by looking at the military or economic powers of the nations, what nation pushed more % of it's resources to Iraq? Just a question

WWII put Poland on the maps and into the history books. But WWII is soon forgotten. Another generation and its all gone.
Really sad.

I know where Poland is, and I thank you and your country for your contributions in Iraq!!

What do you think is being sponsored by Kerry supporters??
-
Sorry If I'm too naive, but what's with the You Forgot Poland! thing?
-
i believe that before the voting, a webpage that is against Bush is "sponsored" (aka designed and published) by his opponent.
Of course i could be wrong, but if it's not connected with the election what would be the reason to put that webpage up?
As for saying "thank you Poland" - it's allways nice to hear it, if you think we did something for you.
Then, it's not my intention to make you say this. The same way i could say "thanks USA" for supporting our guys there. It's not that Poland is doing something so special. i want to believe that we are in Iraq, because it's good for the people there, and great thing is that we can suport our allies, but that comes second, as people there are number 1. i want to believe it's that way (leaving the politic and business side of it).
In other words Poland is just as good as any other nation that's supporting the allies or that's helping some other nation (not only in iraq).
-
I know where Poland is. I also know the sacrifices made by the Polish people during WW2 and respect them for their courage and fortitude. I also add my
for the actions of Polish participation in Iraq.
-
I know where Poland is too.
I know Polish cavalry took on German tanks.
I know Polish airmen were superb flying for the RAF.
I know the Poles showed the world their courage in 1980 in Gdansk.
You guys have balls. Big, brass, brave ones.
I'm damn glad to have the Poles in the coalition with us in Iraq.
-
I might not be up on current events - but what is the significance of Poland other then they make awesome blondes and the females sound really cute when they say "don't pet me, i'm not a dog"
-
the real potential of that nation is that when on the other side of the world there is someone with a "willy" not bigger then an average dog one, he can send his dissatisfied women to poland. we will make her happy and will train her in saying "don't pet me, i'm not a dog" in a cute way, so once she's back from vacation that individual can enjoy her more.

nevermind

Never happend. Propaganda designed by nazis to make poles look like idiots. It became bit of a urban legend since then with opposite implications.
Rest is ok.
:)
As for "you forgot poland". What you have to realize is that Kerry also missed another 10 countries in the coalition, only listed the major or most known ones. Bush by pointing out poland being forgotten, should have also pointed out the other 10, which for the most part he prabably would be able to pronouce.
it's the form in which Bush said it that makes everyone laugh, not the content. It's like a little dumb kid in 7th grade jumping up from his desk to show that he knows that 2 + 2 = 4
