at my brothers. Worked up some 44 mag loads and some 45 acp loads on the old rock chucker press... gonna drive the 69 el camino and stretch the legs of the 468 big block out in the country..
shoot the loads through the chronograph I got out there and then just shoot em at clay birds and stuff to check accuracy.. been doing this stuff since...since forever..
shifting gears in the six speed and burning fuel and tires at a prodigious rate.. perfect day... sun is shining, no wind really..
Hope they let me do all this stuff till I die... Hope they let my grandkids do it.

Sounds like fun!
I hate to say it but I doubt your grandkids will get to do this stuff, girly men and other liberals will take our rights to guns away........ prolly in the next 30 years........... California will find a way to ban non smog controlled vehicles like your elco.... Hell they may demand you turn it in at some point cause it is bad for the envirnment...
How sooon after the right to own firearms if taken before the right to speak out follows?
-
Sounds like a great day for you lazs :)

well... I may have to move out of California. I moved out of LA and then the bay area when those places became too crowded. I need to stay here for a few more years tho for financial reasons.
By sonora, where myu dad lives... the kids there shoot just about anywhere they like that is safe.... in grass valley myu friend just got a CCW by walking in the police chiefs office and doing the paperwork and taking the course. Lots of areas around California to shoot.
They just built a huge 3 story building in vacaville (next door) that has all indoor shooting facilities.
Bush opened thousands of acres of federal land to shooting recreation.
No smog on 72 and earlier cars. Better in other states.
I try to not get all doom and gloom and soylent green about the whole thing.
Besides... we are due for a good plague or war or something to thin the population and take the busybodies minds off of everyone elses bussiness and get em away from their wives and girlfriends apron strings.

thanks nielsen... it relaxes me. Imagine if the media and the government in your country was putting more and more restrictions on boating (for your own good) and that it was increasingly difficult for you to enjoy boating... all the while... people who hated and were afraid of boats were saying that they needed to be banned because only the police and government and those with a legitimate reason needed to own and operate a boat and that boating caused X amount of deaths for no real reason every year...

Thats why I am planning on moving to rural WA in the next couple of years.
To get away from the dip****s that run this state.
I know rural cali is not like the bay area, and people like to shoot etc, but the people drving the laws are the city dweling ultra melons that push laws like the .50 ban, and or making all new guns pass stupidly hard drop tests and ****.
They are alwats going to run the state, they will find a way to stop CCW from getting issued anyware.... They will find a way to ban more guns...
Sorry Laz I don't want to be a downer but the whole cali only assault weapons ban pisses me off. I just can not see things getting better.

We do have a very high taxation on gas and that prevents me from boating as much as i would want to, and they are talking about making the boating license mandatory so i do have some idea.
I am all for making the license madatory cause in the peak of summer there are way to many rich kids racing around with oversized engines and my license lets me drive pretty big boats anyway. I could do without the high gas tax on gas for my boat tho but ill survive :)
-
neilsen... that is pretty much how I feel about it but... say you had to show cause for owning a boat? Say you had to store it in an approved storage yard to prevent joyriding.... that sort of stuff...
At what point do you say enough is enough?

If you swing over to Vegas, check out The Gun Store, Inc. (http://www.thegunstorelasvegas.com/)
Indoor range, full-auto M16s, M249, AK47, MP5, M16 9mm SMG, UZI, Thompson M1A1, Sten MKII, Madsen M50, MP40, Stemple "K", & M3A1 grease guns available for rent. Plus dozens of different pistols.
I'll be swinging by there next week on a business trip. Fun for the whole family!

Lotta free places to shoot in Las Vegas. There was an improvised (nonmanaged) range near the Nellis AFB small arms range that saw a lot of use. It's been 10 years since I lived there so no way for me to know if it's still available.

:D
468 big block
454 bored 60 over? Jesus, and I thought my brother was insane for building a 467 Pontiac and dropping it in a 65' Tempest wagon.

I would like to see restriction on noise levels from outboards close to shore but that is pretty much as far as i would go.
When it comes to gun laws in USA then i really dont "care" that much cause it does not affect me. If i lived there then i would want people to store the weapons at the gunranges/clubs or at the very least that they had to store ammo and weapon seperatly and that they had trigger locks. If those things were done then they could have whatever weapon they wanted (within reason, you dont need stingers and TOW's at home)
-
neilson... I am walking out the door... I have 3 handguns that I took out of my safe and 500 rounds I reloaded right at my house... I will not be going to a range. I may go to a range once in a while but certainly not often enough to store my guns there...
I want my guns where I am not where you want em.

yeah, his brother pissed him off. Ahh, the days of taking the shotgun down to the marsh

When I see stories like this lazs, I can't help but think that there was a snake out there that was thankfull that you killed him right after he experienced the horror of seeing you wearing nothing but a pair of boots and a gun.

Wow! That's insane range you got on your firearm! But it is hard to miss the ground.
-
nope.. range is about normal for handguns.. I don't believe i even mentioned it tho.
nielson.. nobody carries anything at a nuce beach? no ice chests or towels or stuff? they do here in the limited experiance I had. Stainless guns don't get hurt by ice.
deja... code of the west boy.

Hey, is that your "drunken brother"? Weren't we supposed to go there?
I'll be driving my Golf later - the one with the pisspot 1.9TDi engine - probably getting 48mpg. It does have one thing in common with Lazs's olive green pickup truck thingo - 6 forward gears (and synchromesh on reverse!).
-
If we go to the nudiebeach lasz3 there will be no ice chests or other items. :o
<---- except maybe my hat

beetle... sorry but... driving a golf to a cricket paddle game thingie doesn't quite hold the same thrills for an old barbarian like me... and yep.. the same drunken brother... he has slowed down a lot but still.... best to get there before noon.
hope the age of my kind of dinasour lasts a few hundred more years.
neilsen... a 340pd will fit under a hat. and... it only weighs 12 oz.
