Who here thinks On the morning we will have a clear winner weather it but incumbent Bush or President elect Kerry?
-
I'm sure there will be no "landslide" victories for any of them.
-
Bush by a surprisingly large clear margin.
-
We'll know the clear loser on November 2nd, either way...
American citizens.

Provided florida has found a cure for it's electile dysfunction. The lawyers are already lining up. :(
-
LANDSLIDE BADNARIK
LOL LOL LOL
-
While that was a funny pun, it really doesn't hinge on Florida.
Bush or Kerry, either one and we lose.

Who would you choose if you had the choice?
-
From the choices available Badnarik... but the whole returning to gold and silver, well we know that can't work without a huge problem economically.

I'd bet there's a clear winner Wednesday Morning, with both the popular and electorial votes. Based on nothing but a gut feeling the "scientific polls" are missing something.
-
I gotta agree w/ Wulfe, both on the 'no matter which of the 2 wins, we lose' and the 'yay badnarik'. Based on the polling in Oregon where I'm voting, I should be able to vote Badnarik.
-
President Bush seems to have a small lead but that's not enough to assure a clear win. I'm sorry to say it, but it's going to be worse than 2000. :( I wish it were otherwise...

Heard an amusing commontary on the news today.
they were talking about the polls. and if you followed them you saw them going back and forth and back and forth.
What he said was the same thing I wanna know.
"who are all these people that keep changing their mind from one day to the next?"

I have a funny feeling no matter who the initial winner is. you may be right.
We NEED to have more of these third parties covered more by the media. Fresh ideas and views.
The democrats and Republicans have highjacked this country and have each taken the election process to new lows.
Just look whats going on in this election. Again. by BOTH parties. They are both equally guilty
And we are supposed to be the envy of the world?
This is what we want other countries to aspire to?
-
Be a great shame if it does drag on like last time. Especially if Bush wins again by just 500 votes in Florida or some other state like last time. Just makes a joke out of the whole process.

Seems to me there needs to be a spending limit for all contributors. Thats it... once you reach that limit, no more money to be spent on the campaign.
As for the bullpooey with all the stupid ballots... I say end it. One ballot for everyone. Screw the stupid electronic, competrised, punch hole ballots. Use a simple blank circle and you fill in the circle for the people you choose with a permanent marker or pen. Thats it, end of story. Then, they are counted, and there is a permanent record. Plus, to top it all off, it is cheaper than buying a damn polling machine to begin with!
I agree, the lawyers will have this thing tied up for the next two weeks...
Gixer's prolly right, gonna make a mockery of the whole system.
-
if Bush wins by a landslide it will be over... if kerrie wins by any margin, no matter how thin... it will be over.
if Bush wins by one state then it will be a mess like last time.
to the democrats the election is too important to play fair... to the republicans the election is too important to not play fair.
Bush needs to win by two big states at least or kerrie needs to win by one electorial vote to give us relief.

I agree with that but we all know it will never happen. Too many people would lose money over it, less money would mean less commercials so the Broadcasting companies would take a hit, less money means less travel so the tourism side would take a hit. Sad fact is this country has too much greed for the green stuff to stop the spending by politicans.

pffftttt...Bush, by a clear margin - yea!;)
-
Just PLEASE let it end.
Another Bush/Kerry discussion and I'm gonna frigging lose it.
SHUT UP about it already...go vote and deal with the consequences.
Honestly, enough is enough.
-
mora... or you could go to a site that isn't prejudiced by being an avowed kerrie supporter...
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Electoral%20College%20Projection.htm
this site uses the data to show what states the the candidates really can count on.
Again... it will be Florida that decides and with Bush at a 4-5% lead by every other poll... kerrie will have to try to take the election in Floridas democrat controlled courts... like last time with gore. There is a possibility that Bush will take enough states to win without Florida tho...
It is also a possiobility that all the really close states will go to kerrie and then florida will also somehow go to kerrie... in which case it is over.

"Furthermore, the lead has changed in five states, and all five changes favor Kerry. As a result, Kerry has now passed Bush in the electoral college. If today's results are the final results Wednesday morning, John Kerry will be elected as the 44th President of the United States, with 283 votes in the electoral college to George Bush's 246. But don't count on it. Many of Kerry's leads are razor thin. Counting only the strong + weak states, Bush leads 229 to 196, with 113 electoral votes in the tossup category Kerry's leads in the tossup states mean little to nothing. The turnout Tuesday will determine who wins."
http://www.electoral-vote6.com/oct/oct31.html
Well they are actually saying the same thing. The pro Kerry site seems to make more conclusions about the Toss-Up states.

It will be so evident that, by 10pm Pacific, the GOP will start eating themselves... causing white meat and dark meat factions to emerge and commence the GOP civil war. Just a guess. :)
-
No matter who wins, we all lose.:(

We know that now.
"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss." Indeed.
The only light I see at the end of the tunnel that hopefully McCain runs in '08.
-
If Bush wins, I bet Cheney will retire early because of health reasons and Giuliani will be his replacement to set him up for an 08 run. McCain is too powerful to let run, the Republican party would never allow it. He's too popular among the democrats which means that the republican party wouldn't be able to beholden him the way they can weaker candidates.

Who says he runs as a Republican? If the Dem's win tomorrow, they don't want McCain running either as he'll beat Kerry in a heartbeat. It may be that the only hope we have is a really great independant ticket. In fact, I'm pretty sure of it.
-
mora... maybe we are saying the same thing but the "predictor" you point out absolutely depends on kerrie winning both michigan and florida. If he loses either... he loses.. The predictor you show has kerrie winning those states.
most people feel that Bush will win one or both of florida and michigan.

Clear Winner : Bush.
-
I still think after looking at the individual state polls that it WILL be a clear victory for Bush.
The overall poll I think is misleading because as we all know the election is not won by popular vote.
-
I think there will be a clear winner. The 500 vote difference in Florida in 2000 was a fluke.

Just the opposite Gixer. It shows how important each individual's vote can be.

Or just the opposite Stringer. It shows just how important some votes are while others don't count.

Or so that the Lawyers can step in and say x amount of votes are invalid because the hole isn't completely punched through.

You mean that whole "divine the voter's intent" BS?
You have your take, and I have mine.
Your perspective is from the outside, and mine is from the perspective as a participant.
Which lawfully and properly cast ballots didn't count, Gixer?
Being too stupid to actually cast the vote properly, or too lazy to take the time to read the ballot doesn't count as a lawful vote.
-
A landslide victory...
for the lawyers

Not sure I wasn't personally verifying them, but I keep on hearing about how unhappy a million or so Black Americans were/are over the last election.

why is it that you think black peoples votes didn't count? cause they lost? If the democrats lose blacks will be unhappy and that is all there is too it.

It could be a landslide bigger than Dukaksis, and the Dems will cry foul and hold their breath, and fall to the floor crying and kicking and screaming.........

I never said that I don't think black peoples votes didn't count. I said how I keep on hearing about how unhappy a few of them were over the last election.

a million or so is a "few"? What exactly did you hear? Why didn't their votes count?
