Attached are two screens of what I mean (scaled down for the sake of bandwidth). Note in the upper right corners how you can see the corner of a rectangular patch that isn't getting painted with the proper texture. This happens going left or right. Screens are from the Mindanao terrain. Doesn't appear to affect performance any, but it's very distracting when you get 3 or 4 of these little blue corners flashing along the screen edges.
Display is a GeForce4 Ti 4200 ... I'm running DX 8.1.

Yeah ... I guess the election is affecting my sense of direction.

:rofl :aok

Turning off "Horizon" on Video Settings prevents this problem. Just goofing around it looks like there's some interplay between terrain and the view angle ... I was doing a fwd-up view in a 47 heading towards some mountains and all the lower patches of the view were without the horizon haze.

I had the same problem in the patch 11 download. Only mine wasnt just limited to the sides like that, I had it from my rear view as well and it was much worse there.

I believe that game requires Directx 9.0b or higher. Why U running 8.1? Could be your problem.

Yeah ... I'm betting it is ... also I don't see animated water, just the static texture. Guess I'll try updating and see if that fixes things ... but if my system crashes it's your fault. :p

It ain't DX ... I updated to the latest ... screen below was taken from fwd-up view while accelerating down the runway.

Same problem here,

same, FX5900, 56.72 drivers

Same here. ATI Radeon 9800 Pro, one set back of latest drivers.
Darker blue triangles when turning in the corners, sometimes several.
Edit: Tried the newest drivers and Direct X 9c. No change. Tried a host of different video settings, same thing. Had perfect graphics in patch 10.
I also have random flickers across the screen too. Reported those in separate post.

Maybe it has to do with the driver's table fog settings in windows?
-
Dunno ... wasn't happening in 2.00.10, though.

It seems to have something to do with clouds or haze etc. on my system. I see it sometimes when the clouds are just out of sight.

i always wondered what "tearing" was.. now that i know...
i have been getting that since AHII came out, all over the place. split second ones in the air, sometimes the terrain on the ground while flying real low, when hopping from different positions in a GV... and other places.
usually there isn't a sortie that goes on where i dont see some of that, ESPECIALLY when going inverted in a dogfight, just like how all the terrain object disappear while inverted.
usually it is too quick and im in a fight or something to get a screenshot of it.
here is all ym dxdiag info, nothing has changed, and at the bottom is the video8.cfg data from AHII (that has not been updated from AH2.00 to 2.01)

I never saw it before 2.00.11 ... and then I only noticed it on the Rangoon map (though I didn't try too many other maps at the time). It's persistent now - almost any banked turn causes it.

Ditto here DoK... noticed it the minute I took my first turn off the end of the runway in 2.01.

Yep. Had a chance to dl the update after work yesterday and got a little bit of time in the air to test. Exactly the same as patch 11. You were right, turning off the Horizon setting in the video setup got rid of it, but it also gets rid of my nice pretty eye-candy sky. :( Maybe its a mix-up in whatever they did to get software emulation of the hardware T&L functions? As much coding as they did to get this out, and to try to make the game playable for those guys that got left behind at the same time, I expected to see a few bugs. I can live with the boring sky for now I suppose.
