Title: Voting turnout
Post by: Krusher on November 02, 2004, 06:32:33 AM
I voted early but decided to drive by my polling place this morning.  At 6:00 am 1 hour before the polls open I saw 30+ people waiting in line.  In 10 years of going to this polling place I have never seen a line !

I had a similar experience Krusher.  Got there at 6:00 am and still waited 45 minutes.

Same here 1 hour wait.

I've never seen more than 2 or 3 people at a time.

But then again we are voting for a new governor.

No wait here. Walked right in at 7:40 AM.

Maybe 10 voters in the whole place.

Have to bring my daughter to school first.
Then its off to the voting booth.

Thing is I HATE HATE HATE standing in line...for anything.

Its been said of me if there was a line where they were handing out free money I'd turn it down if the line was more then 10 people or 15 minutes long.

In this case I'll make an exeption.

I started this election season an independant and hoping someone would show me something that would get me to vote for them over  Bush.

I dont like any of the third party Candidates policies.
And the more I research and compare Bush and Kerry, Their policies and their plans.  Not only less I like Kerry, But more importantly, the less Kerry's plans and policies make any sence.
And I quite honestly dont see how anyone who has done their homework can say they do.

Kerry wins some points yes. But not on enough of the issues that are important to me.
Actually the only issue he wins on that is important to me is the envorinment. On everything else he looses more then Bush wins.

There is alot in Bush's policies I dont like.
there is alot about Bush I dont like
Problem is Kerry doesnt come up with any better ones and in some cases they are the same as Bush.

From the Domestic policy, to Foreign policy to the War on Terror to The War in Iraq
I just dont see Kerry as the viable alternative.

Hey Mighty1, you should hook up with Kieran.  He's in Bedford too.
I think the Governor's race in Indiana will be as tight as the Presidential one.

I hour wait in South Florida, 200 voters in line at 7:00...

Very orderly with no complaints and no punch ballots, all fill in the bubble type vote ballots.... If the ballot was filled out incomplete the machine would refuse the ballot and force the voter to complete the choices from what I could tell....

Just got back.

Had one person in front of me in line.
Entire ordeal from from walking in the door to voting, to walking out took less then 5 minutes

BTW: I have never had to wait in line to vote ever.... The fact that
I had to wait an hour is incredible.... Whats up with the 70 yearold Moveon.org cronies with the nazi arm bands at the poll...anyone seen this where they are? kind of spooky...

I hope so. Maybe for the first time in a long time a true majority of the population will be electing the president.

I went right after work and there were no lines but I was #466 to vote.....not bad for my district and not bad since the polls had only been open 3 hours.

Kieran is my older brother.

I'm not sure the race for Governor will be that close.

Kernan has had to many years in office and nothing good to show for it. Plus his campaign has been nothing but spouting crap about Daniels.

Daniels has run a clean election with no mudslinging and has stuck to the facts so he is favored to win. (my opinion at least)

According to the talking heads, a large turnout (1.2-1.3 million) is better for Kerry...
