I don't think there should be any WWII flight sims.  After all, someone's relative could have been shot down in one, and that's rather insensitive.

It's a British Lewis gun with the barrel shroud removed. You usually saw these mounted on aircraft and later on the SAS mounted them on their Land Rovers and Jeeps :D

Ya, its for catching the cassings, in a plane, it is defensive mount.
