Post by: bopssgtdibs on November 02, 2004, 05:39:47 PM
During flights, my screen freezes for about 5 seconds. Any solutions or suggestions. AMD 6400, GFX 5200 card, etc.

Run a bbs search for screen freezes, there's lots of posts on it with various tips. The first one is to set your textures to 256 ( default is 512). Also disable custom skins, (just use the default ones).

It was mentioned in the readme file to bump hardware sound acceleration down. I moved the slider to the left one notch. This fixed my micro stutters.

If you experience stutters caused by sounds being played in the game, you may
need to update your sound drivers and/or reduce your sound acceleration.  To
reduce your sound acceleration, select Run from your start menu and type
"dxdiag" in the Open field.  This will launch the DirectX diagnostic program.
Click on the Sound tab.  You will see a slider labeled Hardware Sound Acceleration
Level.  Reduce this level to Standard acceleration.  Further reduction may be
necessary if the problem remains.
