Title: Michael Moore claims not to be upset,
Post by: Widewing on November 03, 2004, 06:51:38 PM
But, has anyone checked his house to see if he has his head in the oven?

Earlier in the week, Michael Moore stated that the winner of the popular vote should be president. I wonder if he still feels that way?

“World leaders” are climbing over themselves to congratulate Bush on his win. Now, this is amusing. Why would these leaders, who so roundly criticized Bush, greet him like a long lost relative? Their realization that the 800 pound Texas gorilla is on the loose for the next 50 months, with a substantial increase in the House and Senate to boot, is making them very nervous. Bush does not have to worry about re-election; he can do pretty much whatever he wants and has solid majorities in the Congress to back him up. This somewhat unexpected reality is forcing the world into dealing with the man, whether they like him or not.

Radical Islam understands that the combination of Bush and Putin is overwhelming. The 800 pound Texas gorilla and the 800 pound Russian bear working to crush radical Islamic terrorism will formidable in the extreme. There’s no doubt that bin Laden’s videotape was a desperate attempt to alter the election result. But, what it showed was that bin Laden’s organization has been badly weakened and the tape merely showed that weakness.

Did anyone notice Edward’s reluctance to concede the election. Right up until Kerry called the President, he was reportedly pressing Kerry to continue to contest the result. Why would he do that when he knew that it would be damaging to the nation? Greed. Greed for power, greed for feeding his ego. Kerry understood that the nation comes before personal wants. He deserves great credit for that display of character. Had he displayed that character during the campaign, he very well may have prevailed. Edwards, on the other hand, is a trial lawyer to his core. Winning is more important than anything and losing is the deepest cut. Well, his designer belts will make acceptable tourniquets.

It was suggested today by Dennis Miller that "Edwards should go home, buy his wife a copy of the Atkins Diet and reconsider what is important, his personal gratification or the state of the nation." That sounds like reasonable advice.

My regards,

Widewing

I speak 3 languages, hold two degrees and as of next year will be working on a third(law degree). I've travelled most of the Western world and much of the East. Judging by your inability to write more than two sentences without implementing a smiley face, I've read more books than you've seen--including one of MM's. I've also seen his last two movies. He may be cultured, deep down inside, but it's the crude nature of his propaganda that makes his productions appealing to the lowest common denominator.

SLO this Kerry loss has hit you hard and you have been acting like a jerk all day.  Go take a rest, I know you are lefty whacko communist and this Kerry loss is like a death in the family but remember yiou are Canadian and your lefty world is safe because Bush is only the US presisdent. At least until June when he invades Canada to stop the flow of dangerous cheap narcotics soth across the border.

Still I understand your thing for Kerry, you just love to defend phoneys no matter how bad it makes you look. But I think you should stop.

Yes but you are France in our Diplomacy game and have stabbed many people in the back. I am sorry but the only culture you have is in the yogurt in your fridge.  :p

Edwards gave up his senate seat, when kerry did not. Kerry has nothing to lose edwards is unemployed (until the next ambulance drives by) Thats why he wanted to keep fighting. IMO.

Well, Mr. Bodhi... I think that the reason I mentioned the things that I did was to allude to the fact that I'm not entirely ignorant, myopic and uneducated--which was probably what our linguistically-challenged friend was trying to say.

As for being cultured... Well, let's just say that although I generally know what all the smaller forks on the table are used for, my table manners, at times, leave something to be desired.

Tuesday, November 2, 2004 -- Election Day
Two Hours to Go

Dear Friends,

We’ve only got two hours left on the East Coast! I am in Cleveland and the turnout is huge. It was the same this morning as we went to polling sites in Florida. People waited for three hours to vote, but no one was deterred. One man told me “I’d wait in this line three days if I had to.” It’s raining here in Ohio, we’ve got a big bus and we’re pulling people out of their homes (gently!) handing out free umbrellas, ponchos, and bottles of water (the last item being slightly unnecessary, considering how soaked all of us already are!). I’ve been getting early tracking results from across the country and things are looking good – very good. But anything can happen in the last few hours. People are just getting out of work. The lines are going to be enormous. Tell everyone you know – as long as you are IN LINE before the closing time, they HAVE TO let you vote.

Early word has it that it is very tight in Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, and Iowa! Michigan – don’t let me down! If you haven’t voted, stop reading this and get down to the polls. Keep calling and e-mailing your address book.

This is it. The homestretch. Let’s do it!

Yours,
Michael Moore

Having been so impressed with Michael Moore's artistic rendition of GWB using pictures of dead soldiers and dead Florida voters, someone on another board was kind enough to return the favor and made a rendition of Michael Moore with pictures from http://www.ratemypoo.com

Enjoy!
