Was reading an article on US citizens moving to Canada due to this election results?
Boy that is like taking a pay cut, plus the people involved are Democracts the left side like most of Canadians are, if they do go over, hope they know of a good doctor to go to in the US when necessary. The wait in Canada could be fatal.
Man some people like it cold.
OK guys let it RIP:aok

Here is my recommended list of possible emigration candidates, or at least the ones I would like to see leave:
MG
Susan Surandon
Rosie (the mouth) O'Donnell
Babs Streisand
Sean Penn
Alec Baldwin
Jeneane Garafalo
Just a short list of the ones I could live without ever seeing again.

Allowing that crowd to move to Canada would be a betrayal of our Canadian Brothers. There's some things you just don't do. If you have issues with a guy and you know that his ugly new girlfriend has the clap - you have to tell him. Sometimes you have to follow the code even if there's some strained feelings. Think along the lines of Bruce Willis going back to save the Marsellus Wallace from an evening of anal rape in Pulp Fiction. Marsellus Wallace was trying to kill him only 5 minutes earlier...but some things cannot be allowed to take place.
Maybe one of the 'experts' that claims that the war in Iraq has greatly aided the recruiting efforts of Al-Q could point these people to a good recruiting area?
I mean, if they believe in certain perceived injustices so strongly - they should pick up the rifle. Go to Iran, get hooked up and try to make it into Iraq to 'free the Iraqis from American oppression'.
If Michael Moore ever wound up in Fallujah, AK-47 in hand, it would probably cost the USMC the battle. Once he was spotted and IDd and the contact report went out over the comm net you'd have Marines running helter-skelter through open terrain trying to be the first to get to a workable firing position. :)

The people that personify America are wearing Utilities and Kevlar or are wearing Navy and Air Force blue. The people who personify America are those who volunteer to defend it, not some self-important "artists" who never put their lives on the line for anything.
Are we clear on that?

Well junior, when you were just part of the general gene pool, I was earning my keep flying off of carriers for a living.
I have always admired people who made a difference. I've never seen a rock star make the slightest difference.
So, when are you going to make yourself useful?

America exists because of the sacrifices of its citizen-soldiers, who since 1775 have stepped forward to do the dirty work of preserving liberty.
If you don't respect that, you probably don't respect anything.

Well, it's obvious that if it wasn't for low class, you would be devoid of any whatsoever. Not that I actually expected any....
I realize that your attention span is measured in nanoseconds, but allow me to remind you that you failed to answer the question, "when are you going to make yourself useful?"
You say that you earn your keep. Am I wrong to assume that you do so at an intellectual level comparable to that required of a sheep dog to earn his keep? Although I suppose they feed you at the table.
You want civility, yet you display none towards anyone else. Must be that attention span again.

I build things.. I'm useful to my surrounding america everyday..
Low class? Well, perhaps.. I have friends all over.. even low places. haha
Look guy.. The military is extremely useful.. But be done with your delusion of grandeur. You are no more responsible or helpful/useful than the policeman, firefighter, teacher, custodian, manufactuer, or any other countless professions all over america.. This country was not built by it's military. This country was built by it's people.. I'm all for patriotism, but not to the extent of worshiping the armed services.. They are great, but they are not god like great.. Get over it..
Men died building the local damn here that provides power to a hugh surrounding area.. Are you telling me that what you did is more important that their service to america?? again, get over yourself.. Fox news with their flag drapped patriotism is burning your brain from all the self admiration you have..
This country is NOT defined by it's military. The day that it is, I for one will hang my head in shame.. Is America to be defined by death and destruction?? Are we to be defined by the Iraqi prison scandal? I know I am picking one certain thing, but defining is defining and one must take the entire definition..
I do give much civility.. I do not, however, offer it to those that wish to talk down to me..
To claim any credit in the fight, you have to show up for it....
I have no idea what this means. I'm not claiming credit for any fight as far as I know.. But I would show up.. 8)

Don't be retarded, this isn't Starship Troopers.
Some military personify the ideals of America, some don't. Some stars/famous people personify the ideals of America, some don't. Some regular folks personify the ideals of America, some don't
Your very small brush does not personify the ideals of America.

I had a client insist on converting $17,000,000 US into Cdn dollars today.
Just about all my clients are expecting the dollar to fall against other currencies and are hedging against their US$ exposure.
I am not making any judgement call on that fact...just stating it AS fact.
-
lol nash i think you pay good money for sort of "treatment". all kidding aside, who really cares what actors think about politics? i dont and i dont know anybody who does. i still think its funny that so many people think that the president is going to make a difference in their lives. to about 5-10% of the people would see any difference if the election had turned out different. last i heard from my brother who lives in detroit, he wasnt allowed to enter canada due to his long hair. so i say good luck to them, dont come back, we dont need any fair weather citizens.

Good, that will make our exports more competitive and raise the cost of imports. Thus.. reducing our debt. A 'weak' dollar is not necessarly a bad thing.

Yup, very true.
Canada had the same benefit when it's dollar was low.
But, I find it odd that everyone is so worried about the US dollar devaluing right after an election. Surely that is a time for it to strenthen?
What is it?
I'm not an economist, just an accountant.

It is always easy to view the American fighting man as insignifigant when one has not stood in their shoes.
Free enterprise and equal opportunity does not exist without someone willing to fight and die for it!
I guess in this day and age it is easy for the non-experienced to forget that!
Have a wonderful day! :)

Anyone who would ratherjust whine and leave the country then stay and work to do something about what they dont like is in my mind a coward and I have little use or respect for.

Deficit will correct in the years to come....economy will grow and the fight against terror will not be easily won, but success will follow in time. Social Security will still be around and hopefully the Goverment will allow some choice for younger Americans as to how they would decide to invest that tax.
To those of you that mourn over the Kerry loss, you should re-focus on what we all have in common for the better of our country....the time and energy spent on whinin and insulting one another will yield very little.
As to what Europe or Canada has to say about US foreign policy decisions, they have never dictated US foreign policy nor will they in the future.....the choices this Nation has made over history has for the most part benefited them all....just the current generation lacks the experience, knowledge and character to appreciate it.
Kinda simple.

Yes, it will correct itself one way or another, but what makes you certain the correction will not be the downfall of America's economical power? What nations in our world history have been the world's largest debtor nation and recovered without some catastrophic economic loss? What makes you so sure SS will be around? How could our nation afford it if our nation's debts are asked to be reconciled?

History spells out clearly the ebb and flow of debt and it's recovery in the US.
SS will survive because spending will come back in line....the surplus so many are fond of speaking to on this board was born out of playing games with a so called SS lockbox which seemed to have been left unlocked.
Bottom line....the US and her citizenship will endeavor to persevere....in other words, we'll fix it even if it hurts to do so. To take the extreme view and say the sky is falling is kinda silly, don't ya think?:)

Yes of course, Iran had an unstable democracy and parliment and simple wanted to nationalize their country's resources. It was a good thing that the US took that all away from them and installed a dictator and then supported him for nearly three decades.
Casing one bad foreign policy after another, uncanny.;)
