FWIW, EVERYONE turns in a resignation for Bush's cabinet. Then Bush accepts those resignations that he feels need to be replaced, and rejects the remaining.

Bush will gain back at least a little confidence from me if he kicks that anal cavity to the curb.

Ashcroft's resignation being accepted would be icing on the cake.

IIRC Powell said a very long time ago that he would only serve in the first term.

IIRC I was reading about the state department and the Intel group in state headed by Colin powel was the ONLY Govt agency to get it right on Iraq's WMD programs!

He's a true patriot and it'd be sad to see him go.

IMHO I think a president DOES need people that disagree with him from time to time.  It keeps a balence to most things.

What is the problem with Ashcroft? Why would some like to see him go?

If he does, who will keep the Internet safe from porn and headshops :( I must admit to being surprised at this decision (if it is the President's and not ultra melon's).

not thats any of my business, but I agree with SOB...

sad day I know, but damn that was well articulated SOB...

C.Powell is GWB's 'Ace in the Hole', if he has any brains he would keep him on his staff

Well, my point was, I think I know a little of Ashcroft's agenda and realize it falls perfectly in line with "traditional values."
Hence my surprise that he is not defended more in the OC.

Ashcroft is excessively religious to the point where it likely affects his performance of his job.   Hence I distrust him and his motives.  I do not equate religion with morality or "traditional values".

He likes to be intrusive into private lives.

Plus the other day, I caught him peeping in my window, oogling my hot body.
