well i just ordered an amd 64 3400+  with a chaintech ,nf3 250 chipset, board.... Now im going to be re using my 9800 pro , and i am wondering if anyone is using a simular combo in AH2, and if so,  how does it run . I really dont want to update the 9800 right now.  thx all 38

edit .. right now with the setup i have , amd 3200+ 512 pc3200
 i have to run 256 textures to run perfectly smooth . I am mainly concerned with upping the texture to 1024, or atleast 512 without any hesitation. It is my understanding that AH is more cpu dependent than gpu .. so im hoping the 9800pro will cut it ...... any feedback is appreiciated.......thx

i've seen ahII take up as much as 590mb of system ram.....you need more ram otherwise....nice system.:aok

Im running the AMD 64 3200+ on a gigabyte kx8ns using the nforce3...

ATI 9500pro/9700...128mb....

I have 1.5gb ram for other applications, but I'm using system memory for AH.
I'm running at 1024x1024 max texture at a 1280x1024 resolution -


Average between 50-75 Fps in mid-high alt combats -

ground / smoke drops down to 40s

Animated water - 9-11fps :)
