Title: I Promise - New Film
Post by: Mak333 on November 06, 2004, 12:50:08 PM
The bar has been raised....  I was speechless after watching this masterpiece.  Yes it is not AH2, (rather IL2) But I believe that it belongs in a general discussion for all to view.  Movie Makers, take note of the camera angles and special effects used.

EDIT:  NOTE:  The file size exceeds 190MB but it is WELL WORTH the wait.

Congratulations on a job well done. This is the best film i have seen to date, and you show real promise as a director. you have a story line, effects and the knowhow to make a great movie that you should be real proud of. I wish I had your talent.

i give it six :aok :aok :aok :aok :aok

-edit- only after seeing the movie i saw your original post mak, I  thought it was you that made the film. I will however not delete my comments because they are justified...whoever made it. Thx mak for "showning" it to us. :)

I think AH should contact the makers so they could create a commercial for AH.

Just watched it, the effects and directing of it are absolutely brilliant.

As for the historical accuracies - were He-111Z's really being intercepted by P-39's over night time england? Soviet Pe-2's being used by the LW on D-Day? Little things like this annoy me.

Nitpicking aside, it was good.

Oh - WOW!

That movie blew me away! Not a WW2 documentary - but a 1A hollywood flick!

Wow again - the sense of drama and timing was perfect on this one!

Makes me wanna fly IL2 again... LOL

All the credits go to MrVH.  He directed and produced the film.  This film definitely surpasses Scragbat's "Sacrifice" and "Requiem".  Some have said on other forums that it almost takes movie making away from them as a hobby because this movie was so excellent.

Someone really should make a full feature movie out of different games, cut togheter :)

Finally we would get a kickass dogfighting movie without the love stuff thats usually fights itself in any war movie hehe.

Probably one of the few movies I've watched where I actually teared up at the end because of what happened....

The music, the action, the radio, gosh! It FELT real!

The more I watch this the more genius I see.  It's really amazing to watch some of the subtleties he put together.  Can't help but wonder what he was thinking when he chose what effects he wanted to have on the audience to have at those particular moments.  I wonder if he went to film school... awesome.

What's even more amazing to me is not only the effects, but the impact to the audience.  It is very hard to keep an audience passed 10, let alone 18, with a video game.  A very nice story, with smooth transitions, and excellent effects and camera angles.
