Is there any way to preserve the increased clipboard size after minimizing it (hitting esc)?  For example, if I increase the clipboard size to double, when I minimize it, and bring it back up, it's back to it's smaller default setting.

Mogi, instead of changing the clipboard size you may want to try zooming in & out of the map with the insert & delete keys.

Unlike changeing clipboard size, zoom will stay where you put it. Makes it a lot easier to see whats in your imediate area also IMO.

As to the clipboard size, unfortunatly that reverts to default size every time you bring it up.
