Title: Scandisk found errors in AH2--Skuzzy?
Post by: TequilaChaser on November 09, 2004, 04:32:17 PM
Skuzzy,
I was cleaning up my HD and when I ran Scandisk it found 3 errors in AH2
/skins/c2052.res
/terrains/sfma.res
/squads/rdrslam.res
said all 3 of these files were bad/corrupted/wrong date/ invalid etc...( was one of the above not all, it did not go into detail)

I deleted these files but was curious if they would cause a skip or stutter if something was wrong with them?

anyhow just giving you a headsup incase HTC needs to review these files, could have just been a corrupted download because of packet loss or something maybe.....

TC, if scandisk found those files to be corrupt, it was done after they were installed as scandisk has no idea what the contents of those files are supposed to be.
In other words, something in the filesystem was not pointing where it should have been and that is why scandisk is complaining.
The terrains and skin will download automatically when you connect, so it is not a big deal.  Not sure why you had a resource (.res) file in the squads folder though.

my bad Skuzzy was a rdrslam.bmp file, I just mistyped that one, wierd why it would be complaining, it was installed and has never moved, that I know of, am the only person using this PC.......

anyhow it is all fixed now, I went to defrag and it said I had to scandisk, then when I scandisked the HD them was the 3 errors I got so just wanted to be safe and post it for you, guess it was nothing at all.......

thanks for responding/replying so fast :aok
