I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, feel free to move it.
Couple questions from an old-noob. Is there now more than one arena? I noticed a "Combat Theatre". This sounds like a different arena than the normal main arena. Is that correct or am I missing something? Are there other arenas also? Which ones are the most populated?

The Main Arena is where most people are. This is a massive fight with no rules other than don't shoot friendlies. Whoever has the most bases when an enemy is reduced to 1 field wins the war and is awarded perk points. At peak hours, about 450 people are there.
The Combat Theater is an arena designed for relaxed realism simulations. They use planesets and maps that try to simulate real WWII battles. Usually about 15 people there.
The training arena is for training. Everything is indestructable unless you crash. There is also a heavy automatic stall limiter used to keep the new people from messing up too much when they leave for the MA.
The Dueling arena has no rules. Everybody vs everybody with all fighters enabled.
The Special Events Arena is where all special scenarios are held. This includes Snapshots, which are small realistic battles. Also, there is KOTH and EuroKOTH, or King of the Hill. The Training Arena - is for Training individuals on different things from learning the game , to learning a plane, to learning GV, to learning combat maneuvers and technique......
the stall limiter is not automatic, you have the choice to use it or not use it......the Trainers will suggest you turn this feature off
The Combat Arena - ( there is no such thing in AH as Relaxed Realism or Full Realism ) is an arena set up on specfic WW2 battles in time using a limited plane set axis verses allies
these mock up battles are changed weekly every friday with planned missions on thursday nights
The Main arena - as described above, possible the way a reset comes about has changed or will change with the losing country/side dropping below a set number of total combined fields ( Airfields/ports/Vehicle fields )
The Dueling Arena - as described , please ask before engaging unless you are flying out of field A1 ( normally this is a free for all field unless someone points it out to you that a duel is taking place here )

this will go to all AH trainers and someone can work out a time with you to meet for specific training if you desire....or just pop in and see if a Trainer is online

I forgot to put at the bottom "The rules I was reffering to are rules set by HTC and not expectations of others in the arena"
It's always seemed to be harder to turn a plane in the TA than the MA, and I'd heard that there was a stall limiter in use there.
EDIT: I also forgot to explain that "relaxed realism" meant that AH doesn't include all oif the planes ever made. The CT makes substitutions, like how the SBD is used in place of the Brewster Buffalow. Flight dynamics are the same.

Umm, where did you get the idea we had "relaxed realism" arenas? The CT is just another arena with better maps, and fairly balanced planesets (one side allies, one side axis rides) in a historical setting. There is nothing any more or less relaxed about it than the MA, in fact if you want to be picky it is MORE realistic than the MA due to the limited planesets and historical setups. :p

I believe the stall limiter is on by default when you first start AH
I think it needs to be unchecked. Anyway thats how it was on my game.

Exactly - it is on by default but is switched off by many, including me.

Seems to me the stall limiter, as well as combat trim would reduce your ability to fly your plane at the edge of it's envelope, especially during a fight. True?

Very true with respect to stall limiter, but I think that is disabled in AH2.
Makes no difference to me...I'd NEVER turn that on...ever.
I use combat trim though...mainly because I have never bothered to map the controls to my stick.
Manual trim is more important for some planes than others. P-38, for example, is a big bus without the use of manual trim...as is the Ki-84 acording to recent test results I've seen written about in the general discussion forum.
For me though, I rarely use manual trim. Maybe that is why I'm not a great fighter pilot though. ;)
