The engines in this thing are pricey! Link sent over from an ATC in Baghdad, but I believe it is in Liechtenstein. Could be Colorado, though. The radio looks European in style. Enjoy!

Great "toy" voss.. thx for sharing.
I would never had the balls to fly it
Any idea how long it can stay in the air?
-
He had some 'big ones' to do that 'Split-S'. I'll give him credit for that.....

Very impressive model. I take it they now have full functioning turbojets for models that small. What kind of compressor, centrifugal or turbine and if turbine how many compressor stages and turbines?
-
VOSS and F-14
ahh its too easy
-
Woohooo, 6 down 1994 to go!
-
Didn't notice it but do the wings change configuration?
-
Mav, check out: http://www.bairdtech.com/bmt/ That example is at least similar to what is used in this F-14. I'm sure there are others, as I've seen at least one other (longer) example.
Stiehl, freeze the player when you see the open section amid wing. You can see the mechanism to swing the wings there.

I saw a video of an F-14, of about the same size. It was scratch built by a japanese guy. Had two turbine engines, and even had swing wings. Well the video shows the F-14 takeoff, but its extremely tail heavy. It pitches straight up, and goes to about 1000 feet. Then it comes straight down and crashes. Horrible.

You mean centrifugal or axial flow...I believe the mini jet engines are axial flow...They are too noisy for most clubs and beyond the budget of most modellers...
But they are so cool..prolly not long before they have afterburners.

hi voss :)
that F-14 is awesome.
-
Hey VOSS, are you gonna make an F-14 flight sim?
:D
-
most of them use a centerfugical compressor (Like one side of a car turbo ) and an axial flow turbine (more common to the conventional jet engs )
Pritty cool tomcat though . Id bet they have over 20k in that toy.
