Title: down loaded,updater on fritz

Upon opening the updater and begining to update old version p.c. stops and error appears as follows:

The file PROGRA~\HTC\ACESHI~1\stdshapes.res is not a valid program version...
now im not great at decifering computer'es so please help me!!!

oh yeah i downloaded update directly from site,game works fine just recieving error when trying to update old version

If you are manually updating the game, you have to get the right patch for whatever version of the game you have installed.  There is not a patch that can patch to the current version from one that is several release back.
What is the installed version?

Also note, if have installed Aces High, into different folders, but never removed the old ones, you could have some bizarre problems with updates as well.
Or if you drag the executable to the desktop, it could cause problems too.

You have not given enough of a description of what you are doing, so I am really just guessing.

What are you tying to do?
