Perhaps the Germans could name a street or two after Hitler, and the Russians could add a few Stalin’s while you’re at it.
Dose this have to go to a vote first?
Will the people except this, Is the anti-Semitism that strong in France? I know Europe routinely claims Israel is the blame for all terrorism in the ME?
Chirac is really afraid of the muslin population in France isn't he?
How dose ALLAH ACBAR translate into French?
Is there any wonder why the US is so frustrated with the French?

Several French municipalities governed by communist and left-wing majorities are considering naming a street or a square after Yasser Arafat.
As little respect as I have for the French administration, one shouldn't blanket them with the views of a miniority.

Sometimes the ethics behind these decisions just eludes me. Every Ally that set foot in France on D-day(and in the days to follow) has about a million times the claim to such an honor as does that dirtbag. Or perhaps, if they're naming streets after Arafat, it's not an honor at all.

I think that what he meant by that comparison was to point out that out of that group of three, none were very nice, morally upstanding leaders who did a whole lot of good for their respective people.

gonna have to disagree with you on the last part, if it wasnt for arafat there wouldnt be ANY talk of a palestinian state.
not that i think they should be naming streets after him, or anything like that, just hes hardly evil enough to be put beside stalin and hitler.

Quite the opposite. I think that simply by virtue of who he was, Arafat set his cause back immeasurably. The Israelis will never respect a terrorist, not when he is the leader of a splinter cell and even moreso when he is the leader of a country. As far as the Israelis saw it, his credability as a leader of people was forever shot because of his past, and by association, so the credability of the Palestinian state. Anybody with decent diplomacy skills and a decided lack of association with extremist groups would have been a better candidate, and ultimately, better for their cause. he would have also been pretty hard to find given the region in question.
Arafat's only real accomplishments were helping to galavanize the rift between Judiasm and Islam, and prolonging the Intifada--for which I'm sure many are most greatful.
As far as comparing him to Hitler and Stalin, had Arafat the material and manpower, he might have done a whole lot more damage. Thankfully he didn't.
May he burn in hell.
BTW: 72 virgins spread out over all of eternity is actually pretty piss-poor when you think about it.
