I really enjoy The Wire. I've seen every episode and its well into the third season now. The family moved from Merlin when I was 6 and I keep wondering if I ever go back and Balmor to visit will I see Hamsterdam. Not a place I'd want to hang out.

Farina has been great.
My favorite is CSI. I find that I can relate to the characters because for the most part they're a bunch of dorks. The characters in CSI: Miami and CSI: NY all think they are just way to cool.

CSI is pretty good. CSI:Miami and CSI:NY are fantastically unbelievable to a degree that they make the wicked stepmother's use of a magical mirror to find Snow White seem believable. CSI itself has issues, but as far as I can tell, they are at least within throwing distance of real science. They might compress the timeline down by a couple orders of magnitude ("Can you test this for DNA?" "Sure, just a second... "Looks like this matches Antonio Suspect, arrested last year for beer robbery") but it's at least close.
Monk is very entertaining.

Probably not many. And not is timeframe shortened like Chairboy pointed out, they also have like 5 people doing the jobs of 20.
But I like the characters and the science and the interesting crimes.

My favorite police show is COPS but that's because I've been a guest star on that show, twice. The first time it was in a liquor store parking lot so my face was blurred out, although you could clearly hear me saying "Let the dude go, man, all he wants is a fuggin beer and a tube of Testor's liquid cement, you pig."
The second time I was the dude who was sitting in the back of a pickup truck, naked, holding a goose in my lap, threatening to break its neck if the cops didn't back off. That one showed my face, but luckily it was only shown in Europe due to protests by the ASPCA.
I love Liberals.

Yup, imo best Brit cop show ever.
It's a shame John Thaw isn't with us anymore. He was good in Morse too.

None,
My missus is a states attorney, they hate that show
All the jurors expect there to be all this incredible evidence and all they can usually produce is a tired cop and the gangbangers...
LOL

Cop Rock
From IMDB:
In what must have been one of the shortest lived series on network television, "Cop Rock" was part "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol" and part "Sound of Music". After chasing down a criminal, the force would take to the street for an organized dance number, then haul the guy back to HQ. This may have been the only series to have been based on a broadway musical format.

Heh, I LOVED Sledge Hammer. "Trust me. I know what I'm doing."
-
BTW, I also really liked Homicide: Life on the Streets. Andre Braugher could act like a madman. I've rarely seen anyone who could display such believable intensity on the small screen.

Mod Squad been mentioned yet?
