Title: FSO: Breakout! Squad Assignments
Post by: Puck on November 15, 2004, 07:45:55 PM
A few notes and observations to follow.

Allied
325th FG "Checkertail Clan"
412th FS "Fighting Brauncos"
68th Lightning Lancers
Arabian Knights
Marine Air Wing
VMF 101 "Nightmares"
U.S.M.C.

Luftwaffe
III/Jabostaffel
The Damned
332nd Flying Fleaba...er...Mongrels
Rogue Squadron
Shillelagh
Sick Puppies
The Dirty Dozen
Gravediggers
FATE
Birds of Prey
AirMageddon
Most Wanted

Total numbers (I did an eWag for BoPs attendance) works out to
Allied 72 to 96 (84)
Luftwaffe 70 to 102 (86)

Allied Frame COs
Frame 1: 325th Checkertails
Frame 2: 412nd Brauncos
Frame 3: VMF 101 "Nightmares"

Luftwaffe Frame COs
Frame 1: III/Jabostaffel
Frame 2: Rogue Squadron
Frame 3: 332nd Flying Puppies

Orders for frame 1 will go out once I get all the e-mail addresses copied where they need to go.

Designer notes:
Obviously not everyone got the side they wanted.  As a rule the big squadrons are asked to switch sides to keep the number of unhappy squadrons to a minimum.  I did the exact opposite for a couple reasons.

First, I thought it might be nice if the big guys could get their first pick for once.  Just a change of pace.
Second, I want to see how well a bunch of small squads can coordinate in a special event.
Third, it actually works out to be a bit more historic this way.  On paper the German forces look fragmented against a monolithic attack by the allies.  In reality it all depends on how well the German air command takes control of the situation.

Orders are sent to all the (relevant) e-mail addresses on hand.  If you don't have them give me $150US for shipping and handling and I'll send you a copy.  But WAIT!  You'll also get this AMAZING Ginsu anti-aircraft cannon!

Already have bounces from the XOs of Sick Puppies and Shillelagh

Puck,

I am not going to be able to make it to this Friday Squad Ops, is it okay if I trade off weeks with the 412th if they don't mind?  Co the week that they have?

Stream ask them (Midnight/Tango) if they can trade. Or ask somebody else if they can do it .. one way or another you need to get a replacement and they need to get a battle plan together and out by Wednesday.

Stream you can do the orders (if you want) ahead of time and someone in your squad could be the step in Frame C.O.

You don't have to attend the frame. It is more important the orders are done and sent out. :)

Puck, I just read the fine print above... you have me down as Frame 2 Axis CO. I think this is a typo.

Hmmmmm.....

Obviously there's been a big big mistake here I KNOW the 412th was just all set on flying A-5's...

I'm sure they'd be heartbroken if you don't accomidate what seems to be a very reasonable request....:D
