AH2 V2.01 has a lot of great graphics stuff. :)
So I suggest here that we post screen shots for collecting HTC's next screen shot page.
http://www.hitechcreations.com/shots.html
my first ones:

OK I'll play. My two favorite.
A pair of Spit Vs rolling in on a lower bandit and a pair of drop tank equipped P38s outbound.

As a user of a several year old Dell 8100, that was my first chance to see the 'new' water they had for AH2. Real cool looking, but after flying a bunch of hours from Palm Beach to the Bahamas...something about it is just not right. Wish I could put my finger on it but its the reflection...hmm.
Great pictures all around!
-
Wonderful screen shots!
Damn. I can hardly wait for "TOD"
-
I've got some killer films of fighter runs we've done in the past few months. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to take a screen shot from within the film viewer. I've pressed just about every combination of keys imaginable. And still can't figure it out.
Anyone know ?
-
Does the Windows screen capture function Alt-Printscreen work?
-
Alt-S is what I use to capture AH2 screenshots. The files are then stored at .BMPs in your main AH2 folder.

hit the Print Screen button... it puts the screenshot into the "clipboard", then you can Paste it right into a bitmap editor to trim out the frames and menus.

Great idea Mitsu. Nice shots. Dux you have some nice ones I bet. :)

just play your desired film in film viewer, get angles, zoom, etc right, then hit print screen.
next go to Paint of photoshop and 'ctrl-V' it in.
then edit and your away.
EDIT: ooops, dux was way ahead of me :)

May I share? Perhaps show off the damage?

Kinda like that last one Batfink.
I seem to recall that happening often in Airwarrior. A guy put up a good fight, but clearly wasn't in shape for anymore.
You'd pull off and send him on his way with a 'thanks for the good fight" or something similar. Or you'd cover him back to his side of the lines.
That or they'd call 'out ammo" and that was it.
I'd forgotten about those days until I saw that last image.
It is just a game after all :)

And the last two times I did that, I got my arse shot off by the 'desabled' airplane. I typed
, and good luck, and broke off slowly only to see him turn on my six and shoot me.
Have tried it four times. No one ever responds to or and two tried to shoot me on my way out.

well ded, those guys can stay in the MA when TOD is released.
i know Wolfala quite well and the mutual respect shows.
s'pose 50% of MA population you just can't reach.

It's no good if you go and PHOTOSHOP the images, people. They are supposed to be screenshots, not fantasy art. I'm not naming names, but I'd refrain from posting anything up for official screenshots if you have altered the photo, rather than just cropping and whatnot.
It's misleading. It's especially so if it is posted on HTC.com as an official screenshot.
-
I was right about to ask what kind of video cards some of you guys are running. Especially mechanic's since there are all those parts flying everywhere. I have a fairly decent card and I know mine doesnt do that. Maybe they were photoshopped?

Who photoshopped? I used the filmviewer, found the shot I wanted and got it to the angle I wanted. Made the film viewer full screen and used Hypersnap DX to get the screenshot.

thanks krusty, this is almost more insulting than if you had made it a direct attack at me :)
good point, although only two of them are edited. only to get rid of the poor hit sprites. Sorry, im a perfectionist when it come to art and visuals, i would have liked to do alot more work on them.
thanks octavius :)

EDIT: Chortle, you're right, i must be getting soft. lol. time to get back in the spitV/hurricane and HO/RAM/VULCH anyone i see.
-
Well mechanic, they look good none the less.. Maybe HiTech can take a look at them and make the game look like that. :D
-
The b24s on the first post with the massive sun glare look "touched up" and I can't be sure if there are really that many 24s or if they were cut and pasted. Just doesn't look like anything you'd find in AH lol.
Note: the sun glare may be some super-duper-high-end video setting that I don't get because my PC is not that great, but it just doesn't look like anything I've seen.
The FW/Spit is also another.
Mechanic, no offense intended. I think it does look good. But on the first post of this thread, the topic was about submitting screenshots for AH's screenshots page. Thus why I made my post about not photoshopping.
I feel if it's going to be on HTC.com, it should be authentic, and not promise visual effects that aren't really in the game.
If you look at all the great AH1 screenshots, they are straight from the game, yet still grab the interest of those looking at them.
-
Damn!
I have to get my new machine rollin, the game is looking great.
;)

honest to god (who mostly for me, is HT), the B24s are from a squad mission, totaly un-edited.
The 109 has a brief attemot to obsure the horrible hit sprite.
the spit and 190 have alot of debris but the sun is exact from AH2, i only used MS paint, i dont have photoshop.
the p38 and 190 has the smallest edit of the 'thumbs up' and the pilot's head is now looking at the lightning.
i think the Bottom one is therefore the only one that could be accepted then, as Mitsu has far better B-24 shots.
notice that the AH1 screenies on the HT page look better from their clouds than these lot atmouspherically anyone?
-
Krusty ...
So I suggest here that we post screen shots for collecting HTC's next screen shot page.
Notice "suggest" in Mitsu's original post. Now has Pyro or anyone from HTC posted in this thread to officially sanction the acceptance of any screen shot posted in this thread and what would be the official requirements of what they would accept.
No ? ... thats what I thought.
With that in mind, don't you think that if Pyro was to use any of these screen shots, he could easily tell the ones that have been doctored ... I think so.
So without further a-do, you have been relieved of your "Hall Monitor" status ... thank you.

That screen is not touched up.
Believe it or not, subscribers can *actually* see more than just 8 Liberators outside of H2H land :D

Slapshot, that 262 picture is defently sweet :aok

Thanks ... Its a bear working with the film viewer.
I only tweaked the Color Hue and Contrast in that picture. For some reason, the gamma on my screen tends to be on the light side, so screen shots tend to be on the lighter side/washed out. What I am portraying there, could actually look just like that on someone elses monitor.
Everything in that picture is exactly as it happened. I did not add or delete anything from the original screen shot.
Here is the same one photoshopped.
Added a blur to soften the picture ... afterall we are going 500 mph and the F-stops back in WW II didn't allow such crisp pictures ... not even what I have portrayed. I also added some jet wash to the engine exhaust.

sometimes it usefull for aiming i find. hold the nose steady for a full power shot. only take it off when the flight or plane demands it.

The 'new' water looks great at medium altitudes, but down really low it starts looking silly (this is under a few hundred feet), and up high it looks worse and worse as you go. Its got definite potential though we need to:
Correct the white noise sparkle effect seen in that pic above...it just doesnt look good...in fact it looks damn bad:eek:
Add some sort of lower altitude hieght cues, as it is now, its impossible to judge your altitude by looking at the water if the 'new and improved' is on.
Overall Im happy to see any attempts to update the terrain engine. I know they can fix the problems and it does look damn good under certain, albiet limited situations.
Just a little blur (very little) fixes the sparkle

see that looks much better, but its still "odd"
oh and the fps hit from 70 solid to 5-10 is also allittle silly :lol

It is a start in the right directions ... geeeeesh !!!! ...

how did you get all those particals showing up in your game? I see nothing like that
-
thats edited in MS paint.
one thing about the new water:
it looks terrible when you capture a screenie, but doesnt look half as bad in motion.
for me, with the best graphics setting, it looks good up to 10,000, and reasonable up to 25,000

The water looks like TV snow (thats white noise to you MTV generation folks). It is highly unrealistic, very ugly, and distracting as hell.......but Im sure it'll become something outstanding in the near future.
