Title: Luftwaffe insignia variations?

Can anyone point me to a description of of the Luftwaffe aircraft insignia evolved during the War?

For example on what date did they drop the black center from the balkenkruez and just go with the white outline?    Sometimes the balkankruez is bordered with white, sometimes the white border has a black outline as well.   How do you know which to use on the wingtop, when the only reference you have is a side view?

Been thinking about trying a skin for the 190A5 lately.

Can't claim to be much of a LW expert.  This guy looks like he's done a good job with the basics though.

It appears the upper wing crosses changed in 41 or so.
