I'm running a BFG 6800GT OC. It runs every game I play w/o a burp or fart.  Cruising at alt, fps @ 120.  In furball on large map,
crowded arena..@56 fps.  That's with a firewall and AV running in background.  This card is worth the investment if you can do it. Just make sure you have an adequate psu, min. on this card is 300W, but 400W is recommended.

You won't be impressed by any improvement in image, the eye candy just isn't in this game. If you want to see impressive flight sim graphics, check out Pacific Fighters from UBIsoft. ( IL2 makers ):)

The 'zig-zags' you are referring to has to do with anti-aliasing and it works fine in Aces High II.

How will it work on a bit older system? I am running a GF4 Ti4600 128 card on an AMD XP2100 with 1G ram. I have been doing some tweaking as of late and have got my frame rates up a bit(slow process because I dont have a clue what im doing). Anyway, any input on how a 6800GT will work with my system? Should I just try and squeeze what I can out of what I have and wait on the GT for my new system?

Slash,
My Guam rig  is a 2100, 1 GIG Crucial and a GF4 4400.  It is my guess that you wouldn't see much improvement in fps (CPU limited)  but would be able to turn on 4xAA, 1024 textures  and turn up the eye candy a bit.  IMHO, it probably wouldn't be worth the current premium price unless you are planning to build a new rig in the near future.  I am pretty sure that my now ancient tech 9800XT is CPU limited in my sig rig below.

 CYLONN,
I have just installed a BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC
agp , in my pc I  still have some screen gliching .
Can you please tell me what your settings in the game are ?

Are you loading  system memory or video memory and running 1024 Textures or ??   what video choices and settings you have made in the game and in the Video Card properties ? in windows .

My pc is a AMD athlon 3200+ 64 Bit
Win XP home SP2
DX 9 c
1 Gig PC 400 ram
160 GB HD
Soundblaser Audgy  ( wdm drivers only, no extra creative software )
 Enermax 485  ( atx 12v V2.0 ) watt power supply.
 Screen Rres.  1024X768
Crusing at Alts my FPS @ 100 and in furballs and crowed @ 58 .

I agree with you about eye candy in Pacific Fighters !

Thank you in advance for your help .

Thank you , I have checked with Skuzzy Friday .

As for the AMD 64 Bit CPU ,
It is the same pc I ran for almost a year , and I used to run a
BFG Asylum GeForce 5700 Ultra and it worked good , It is just that I do not know or have not learned how to set this  6800 GT OC 256 MB card and the preferences up yet .

Dagored,
Have a bfg..gt settings as listed

 Display settings:
Latest NVidia drivers; go to :3DGuru (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=13) D/L the coolbits util and add to registry; now you can clock the card to Ultra settings, just mak sure you have a good cooling solution. Mine is 404;1100

 AA-4x
 AS-app controlled
 Image Quality-High
 Vsync-On
These are only ones here I change.

 In Game:
 Initial video screen:
12x10; 1024 textures; preload in sysmem; unlimited fps; HW    verts  checked

 Video Setup once in game:
all sliders approx 3/4's to the left (under the "e" of the word more)
the checkboxes checked except disable skins.

Game looks and reacts stupendous, looks like different game compared to some I've seen.
Get a steady 75fps all the time except on diff maps, activity, etc. and will go down to 55fps on occasion.

  Abit AV-8 deluxe
  AMD64 FX-53 clocked to 2800
1024 Corsair Low lat dual channel ram
BFG 6800GT clocked to Ultra specs
