Title: Some Skin ideas for P-38s
Post by: streetstang on November 17, 2004, 08:02:29 PM
I'm not sure if anyone is working on skins for the P38 yet but I was looking through some of my pictures I have of them and found a few I'd really like to see someone do. I have no idea how to make skins for planes in AH so I'm not even sure if its posible to copy/make a skin from just a photo.

Anyways, I thought I'd post them just the same to see if it could be done or anyone could use them for ideas.

Thanks. 8)

Just remember that those are either restored warbirds in questionable historic schemes or someones artwork with questionable historic artwork.

The only one that might stand the history test is "Scrapiron IV" as at the time it was in that paint, it was owned by Larry Blumer who was a wartime 38 pilot who flew that bird and repainted his warbird to match his wartime mount, which did not have red white and blue spinners btw

You are correct, I think captvirgil from here knows him infact.

Here is an actual '38 from Mr. Blumers squad, if this helps at all

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if Savage has had contact with him :)

Ol' Savage knows his 38s :)
