The Japanese sent over balloons with a single bomb and half a dozen or so incendaries on them into the gulfstream to America - the bombs were dropped one by one after a certain amount of time.
They were released in their thousands, they were very inaccurate, very unreliable, and pretty much utterly useless. Some apparently started forest fires and some damage, not sure if they actually killed anyone though.

its your crappy english translation?

I can't see the figure for US citizens being correct:
Some civilians must have died a Pearl Harbour, plus others woould have been caught it up in Japanese and German attacks overseas.
I wonder where Merchant Navies come in? Many US sailors died in the atlantic.

ADD to that the 6 million or so jews that was brutally murdered by the nazi's and their helpers
-
United states : 295,000 troops
Not surprising. The United States has always adopted the stance of firepower before manpower. In fact it amazed the Germans that a US Army private had the authority to get on a radio and call in a Battalion artillery strike.
Under their doctrine artillery fired on a time table in pre-coordinated fires and only a few soldiers in the Unit would be trained to call for fires.
Don't take this the wrong way. All armies used firepower and manuver in preference to casualties. The question became where is the line and are the assets available. The US has and always will spend money before we spend blood whenever possible.
What I want to know is why the French did not immediately sail their fleet to England and put it under the Free French Flag?
Would have totally prevented Operation Catapult.

Because it was the Vichy fleet.
-
the jews are included with the citizens

Because it was the Vichy fleet.
Yes but days before it was the RF fleet fighting for their countries survival. I just wonder why they did not jump at the chance to continue the struggle and free their country.
Maybe they were just tired of fighting?

A japanese balloon bomb landed in california and killed a
US citizen. Both the Japanese and Germans had subs that
shelled the mainland.
It was attacked, just not very well.

They were not tired of fighting having almost done no combat.
They just followed their order believing Vichy was a legitimate governement.

It's easy to look back now and see clear answers. But try and remember March 2003 and the uncertaintly you might have felt about to outcome of the attack on Iraq.
Many Vichy seemed to consider Free French fighting alongside the British as traitors. It must have been a very strange time with part of France occupied and part supposedly free

IIRC the idea of the "liberty ship" was to produce more than the German U boats could sink and sink alot of them they did.
These ships were manned by CIVILIAN sailors NOT armed forces. I don't know off the top of my head how many went down or how many crew were lost but to say that the US lost ZERO is ludacris at best.
-
according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_II_casualties_by_country
About 6000 US civilian were killed that far from 0.
-
i don't know why but graphicaly it isn't mentioned
so i said 0 i don't think it can be zero either.
