Title: I Hate Skin Day

I really do... they mess up my game something fierce ...... nothing but lag and huge game freezes all the time ... so .. its 2-4 days of bad game play .

cant it be set up as a downloader seperate of the game ??

that did not help Octavius......

I downloaded and installed that 85 meg file of skins.

then when I logged into game I played for over 2 1/2 hours and still continously got skin updates.............

then turned off show others skins and still got skin updates.......they just kept on downloading

should make it to where skins are only available from the download page, and if you do not download & install them you do not ever have to bother with it or have to ever receive skin updates......

same thing here... been there got the 85mb file .. but as its been since the skins was 1st intriduced in the game, it always causes a stutter and frame rate sieze for the 1st few days that they release them ingame.

Note this happens to all 3 of the pc's i play on . even with a T-1 connect on one of them it happens . (there not slouch pc's either)

What i usually do when i got that download prob is i either go to DA or TA for a few hours till skins have downloaded. impact on games not so heavy there.

If you dont want to fly there, just stay logged over night or during work.

wish mine would update all of them in 2 to 3 hours...........

this patch came out on 11/18/04  as of 11/25/04 around 2am it had not finished updating them,  and the  combined skins file was put up for download the next day on 11/19  so how many more new skins are their? that are not included in that 85 meg skin file? if they all are in the file, why are we downloading them again if we have already downloaded all of them and installed them already?

Since patch 3 I can't turn off skins either. They just keep comming in no matter how the tic boxes are checked.

The skins file you can download outside of the game was updated last week and not up with this week's batch.  At least it was the last time I checked.  There are so many skins waiting, we will get a slug of them at the end of every week I think.

there is no way to turn off the skins download.....putting a check in the "turn off other players skins" will not stop the skins from loading it only stops you from seeing the skins on the planes that other people are useing as there skins. what you will see in that case is the defalt skin for that plane.
