Seventy eight new reasons to love Aces High!
My new sounds will add a great deal of realism to your Aces High experience. All 78 sounds have been replaced and have a different, yet more realistic sound than the originals. Unlike Mitsu’s sounds, my sounds do NOT have Japanese accents.
Experience Aces High like you NEVER have before.
Follow this link (http://www.wwiirt.com/ahsounds/ahsounds.htm) to eskimo's Aces High Sounds download page.

man almost tempted to try this for real, some unbeliveable realistic sounds. The chute, some of the hit sounds are my fav.
But your 30 cals sound like they are slightly afowl.
Can't wait to get the squad to load this:rolleyes:

The chute and doors (bomb bay) sounds don't work; at least on my machine. I tried them both as the originals and can't hear a thing. My guess is that during one of the revamps, perhaps from AH I to AH II, Hitech reworked those objects and renamed the link and no one noticed. Either that or my machine is screwy. I replaced them anyway.

Actually I had no idea that it existed. I just checked it out, however, very cool sound pack! Until 3 days ago, I had never even opened my AH sounds folder; and I’ve been playing since day 1 beta.

There is only one engine sound for all prop planes, as in AH default. I can't promise that it won't "bug" you though.
The entire sound pack is only 3.1 MB; it just takes a few seconds to download on broadband. I promise that you won’t regret trying it! Swap the entire sounds folder for the complete experience.

It's truly amazing how such a small download was able to completely transform the sounds in meticulous detail. The occasional historic radio chatter is really immersive. It was a pleasant surprise when I switched countries and the radio chatter switched languages.

excellent,
the train is so realistic, could have sworn I heard a passenger scream

If you like a good laugh you need to download and install this sound pack. Most of the sounds come from classic cartoon sound effects, Star Wars and farm animals; not to mention a few rude bodily function sounds that are dubbed for the explosions. I only replaced the original 78 default sounds, so it’s a small download (3.1 MB). It’s actually a bit smaller than the AH default sounds. I know that my old POS machine actually has a sound lag with Mitsu’s sounds; as great as they are, I think they might be a bit much for old puters.
If you have broadband you should be able to download and install it in about 3 minutes. If you want to switch back to the original sounds, you can do so in less than a minute. Try it, at least offline. I promise that it will be worth your time. Make sure that you try a jet and a ME-163, fire some rockets and switch the country ownership of your offline field to an enemy as you take off, so that you can take some hits. Do a high speed gear up landing and kill some buildings while you’re at it. Try the guns on different planes too. The tank main guns are my favorites. Be sure to try the 37mm in the M-8 and the bigger gun in a tiger.

Any guess as to the type of insect recorded for the motor sound?

I also didnt know your sound pack was out there, I dl'd it and it rocks! The only edge I'd give to Waffle's is that his engine start sounds segue into the engine run sound much more smoothly than anybody else's. Not a put-down of yours or anyone else's, as yours are what I have installed right now and probably will for awhile. Just my observation.
I'll put Eskimo's sounds back in when I want a good laugh. That Taz sound for the engine start is classic.

hmm... I don't really know.
It sounds like a fruit fly or something, or maybe a skeeter. :D

Good job! It is a fly.
Any idea where the GV motor sound came from?
