From time to time, I go to the Squads folder in the AH2 directory to see what new noseart has been added.  

Some of these were obviously ripped from other pieces of artwork.  But, to those who made an effort to make your own original artwork... <>  :)

Which is your favorite?

Personally, I like the Kraits' noseart with the large, blue "K" and the snake -- simply because (I'm hoping) it's an original design and it would be pretty easy to identify if I actually saw it on a plane in the arenas.

But, there's A LOT of nice stuff here.  WTG, everyone.

4 over and 3 down, the girl is from the old aces of the pacific box, im holding it in my hand now, origionaly i think it was alberto vargas the famouse pin up artist.  

top row 5 over is "the death dealer" by Frank Frazetta the greatest fantasy artist of all time!

I cant pick just one.They are all stunning.

what I want to know is how they manage to keep the images looking so sharp when they get reduced down to 64X64 256 color.

Uploaded my noseart last night Temporarily anyway till I can get  or find someone that can get mine as clean looking.

Right now you can barely make out the name let alone the caption underneith. and the Gremlin looks more like a blob of grey and silver blocks.

I'f anyone here can help me get it done I would be most grateful

Did you guys know that the noseart submission thing is currently broken?

 Currently, you can load any noseart you personally want, as long as there's a squad noseart already up.

 Replace your squad noseart file with the one you want and name it the same, and it works.

Death From Above has a pretty kickarse noseart.  Both Fighter and Bomber wings. Not in amoung those tho.

Ours is ripped off from AW DOS graphics. :)  BTW, except for the bent wing bird with a cigar in it's mough in the center, this is how the graphics looked when I first started playing.

The 479th nose art that is shown (the one as my avatar) is the actual insignia for the 479th "Riddle's Raiders" Fighter Group based in England during WW2.  They were a P-38/P-51 squadron.

Speak of bottles....YIKES!!!

BTW, how do I shrink this again? It worked before , but I can't seem to find it, and when I just try and shrink it by 'resize', it blurrs. I'm starting with a 22meg TIF , maybe I can't shrink it all in one shot? Can't remember how I did it last time?:confused:

This is the Mrs Roo's tutorial for paintshop pro 7-8 for resizing

Warning they added a stupid addware to the website that has a pop up .. just clic no .. (Were in the process of moving all her pages eventually )


Or you can just bribe her and she'll be glad to resize it for ya .

Thanks for the kudos on the DFA noseart.  I'm not 100% sure where it came from as it was what we were using when I joined the squad years ago.  Whoever created it did a nice job.
Since we combined our two wings into one, we have created new noseart for the game but still use the buff and fighter wing logos on our website.  The new noseart should be out soon - its a yellow and black skull, and I'm hoping will show up nicely in the game.

We call her "Zoe" and you are looking at the nose art of the "Flying Zoo".  Not sure of Zoe's origins.  One of our very creative squadmates came up with nose art. Note that Zoe has gone so far as to have the "Zoo" tattoo'd on her arm.

Now that's my kind of woman!

I had fun with the nose art of my old squad. I tried to keep it simple and light hearted as you cannot see any small details on another players plane or vehicle while playing the game.

I believe it is still in the squads folder. But my game id is now g0aly spelled with a zero (I had cancelled my account and later rejoined.)... I put in an email to get the old splelling back, perhaps you will see it again.

go to htc folder and oippen snose art and delete those thinges but leave the folder
