Title: Green Mountain Boys Recruiting
Post by: slaker on November 28, 2004, 10:44:11 AM
VMF-158 is looking for a few good pilots...

MISSION STATEMENT:  "The mission of the VMF-158, Green Mountain Boys, is to have fun with flight sims, enjoy each other's company while online, and shoot down enemy aircraft and blow up ground targets in the process.  We will build a top notch virtual squadron through mutual encouragement and practice of our flying skills, bombing skills, and plain old-fashioned people skills.  We will look out for each other when flying the virtual skies and when landing back at home.  We will take the time to sit back and relax when things get stressful.  We will never take ourselves or each other so seriously that we lose sight of the reason we fly in the first place: to have fun, enjoy each others company while online, and shoot down enemy aircraft and blow up ground targets in the process.  We strive for order and mutual respect within the squadron while keeping it loose enough to prevent its becoming rigid and lifeless.  Every person involved has something of value to contribute and we desire to see that contribution flourish into the life of the squad." - Capt. Frank Dolansky

If this sounds like a squad you would like to be in, check out our  website (http://www.thegreenmountainboys.com). Pilots of all skill levels are welcome, and beginners are especially encouraged to apply.

ENLIST TODAY! (http://www.thegreenmountainboys.com/application.htm)

Hey Guys!

Remember you guys from the old Warbirds days when I flew with the 27th SENTAI.

Glad to see you are still around.

Yeah, WarBirds 3.0 almost did us in as a squad.  Half the squad didn't have the PC horsepower to run it.  That is what eventually pushed us to AH.  That was difficult decision that we delayed because we also had a MAC user in our squad.  As much as I complain about certain things in AH, it still beats WB hands down.

Yea, Was in Lowe's JG 51 MOLDERS there in WB's and flying as an exchange pilot in the 27th SENTAI. Same thing made us leave for AH. Split the squad, some whent to AH and the others went to IL-2. Killed the 27th SENTAI outright because most were MAC users.

Same thing happeded to our JG 54 GRUNHERZ here in the CT when AH1 went to AH2 - pretty much disolved the squad.

Good Luck! ! :aok

Jester....Don't give up on AH2. I just blew the power supply in my spiffy new Dell XP I got to keep currant and get a leg up on AH2. The last few days I had to plug in my old computer from 2 years ago with a pretty old vidio card and guess what? It runs AH2 pretty darn well. Frame rates around 35 to 60 which is good enough. That's with TeamSpeak running in the background.

Hope to see you and Lowe back in the air some day. :-)

To you Green Mountain Boys....Great squad....Best of luck. I grew up in Vermont and do occasional airshows with a skydiving team called Air Adventures and we did a show in Burlington, VT a couple of years ago....Guess what....BTV is the headquarters of the Green Mountain Boys, a National Guard Squadron that currantly flys F16's.

You should look them up on the Web...They'd probably get a kick out of it.

Four different models of Corsair all blue with the biggest white stars you've ever seen and we throw the tailhook in for free.

How can you beat that?

Why did they call the Corsair "Whistling Death"?

I've never whistled once while shooting down an enemy in one.

Join us.

Even if you can't whistle.
