Howdy folks,
I just wanted to give a heads up to those of you who are using or have used one of these joysticks and are now unable to replace it due to MS discontinuing their production. They can still be found on E-bay, often for very reasonable prices. I recently purchased 2 of them there, one for $49.00 and the other for $25.00 + S&H. Both of them were in like new condition with all cables and software included and experienced very prompt, hassle free transactions. I just checked a few moments ago out of curiousity and there are no fewer than 7 listings with current bids ranging from $1.00 to $40.00. Most of these were for like new condition or even never used. There are alot of these sticks out there owned by people who either don't use them anymore or never have and have no idea what they are worth. There are also ones I have seen go for well over $150 in competitive auctions when the buyer knew what they had and hyped it as a dissapearing commodity. If you are interested go check it out soon because as time goes on they can only become more difficult to find and more expensive as the supply dwindles. They are the best single controller, small footprint joystick ever made in my opinion and I just can't understand why nobody else has produced an optical sensor joystick like them. I have NEVER had to calibrate any MS joystick that I've had, and I have had many because the hatswitch and/or trigger always eventually wear out or break.
PS Apologies to Skuzzy for the off topic post in the general forum but I wanted the most people to see this as there have been several threads lately mentioning these sticks.

but.. are there any other brands that use/going to use the optical systerm that the ms joystick has.
just hoping that than.
btw mine (FFB2) is already going great 2 years.
only one knob i just have to push a litlle harder
just for the record what's the record in durability so the mine is iabout 2 years now.

Bought mine New in 97 or 98 cant remember and only thing wrong is lookin foreward and to the right when usein the HAT, But after taking it apart carefuly and bending the buttons in a little with needle nose pliars it works fine .
But yes mine has been goin on for a long time , no need to recalibrate or anything software wise , just wish the throttle was on the right side instead the left , oh well
