Well, too bad he doesn't play AH. Then he coulda just spiked it onto the runway, torn the wings off, gone to the tower, and got a new plane for free.

Thank god he waved off instead of landing.  That was insane....I'd been ripping the vinyl off the armrests with my fingernails.

VWE, That second link, IIRC shows a standard approach into hong kongs airport.  The video doesn't show it but there's like a hill or mountain with a building on it right at the approach.

I've seen pictures of 747's scraping their engines on the runway while landing at Hong Kong... I'm sure lots of sweaty palms in those cockpits.
