Title: Warbird Players Con -- UPDATE

1) We signed on Bruce Gamble author of "The Black Sheep" and "Black Sheep One" and Henry "Boo" Bourgeois, who flew with Greg
Boyington during the Black Sheep's first combat tour in the Solomon Islands.

Some of you may know Boo as he flies with the 214 virtual black sheep squadron online.

4) We have a bus reserved for the USAF museum which we go out all day on Friday.

5) We are sponsoring a pizza/beer party the first night. Lamma is working on yet another meal that will be included with registration cost.

6) We need two volunteers. One to help with events, preferably a CM. Another to hammer the phones and work with sponsorships. We could use some help. <g>

Post by: eagl on June 16, 2001, 09:52:00 AM: I'll most likely be there Thursday, yup. I don't have plane tix, leave authorized, or the hotel room yet but I'll get there somehow :)

OT: I'm building a LANbox just for October's cons. I'm starting with an aluminum sided briefcase I picked up from Harbor Freight. It's the perfect size, has a carrying handle and lockable latches, and is made out of pressboard with foam padding inside and aluminum sheathing on the outside so it should be rugged and reasonably quiet. I'll hold off on putting the mobo and cpu in since there will be lots of price drops between now and then, but I can get it converted to a computer case now. It's even going to be cheaper than a normal computer case.

Ummmm what FE will be used for the dueling tournament? If it's WB, I'm gonna have some 'splaining to do since I cnx'd my WB acct last month... One sim is as good as another as far as my 31337 gaming sKiLz go, so any game is fine with me :D

One interesting thing of note - AH is apparently keeping my BFM skills up to speed even after a year out of fighters. I went up against an F-15C driver in a pair of T-37's and waxed him 3 out of 5 tries and the other 2 ended with us "neutral" except he tagged the bottom of the area and so that's considered a floor kill in my favor. I kept waiting for him to warp or alt-f4 when I reversed on him though... ;)

Excellent! :)

All you'll need is the gunnery touched up from WB. Maybe we will all be flying WB III by then anyhow so its a whole new boat for that. The off line drones are very good, btw.
