Ok, so for dueling you usually have the same plane, same fuel, etc.
But what are some of the different plane matchups that you've found to be close, fun 1v1 fights?
So far I've found a few, they include:
109G2 or G6 vs. F6F (This one can be REAL close)
Spit V vs. Zeke (Makes the Spit do other things than just turn hard)
P-51D vs. La7 (Always ironic, IMO, when these two planes square off and fight, given the bad rap both are given about running)
I've had a really fun fight in each of these situations. What are your favorite matchups?

the two best fights ive had all year were these:
SpitV(me) VS FM2(2cmex)
duration: 9 mins
outcome: spit wins
damage: moderate to both planes, fm2 loses to pilot kill.
on film: yes
best moment: me asking on ch200 if he wanted to rtb with a pilot wound and him declining, then me splashing his head all over his cockpit with the first 20mm rounds i used all fight.

P47-D40(me) VS 109G2(Virage)
duration: 6 mins
outcome: 109 wins after frantic fight.
damage: to both planes, jug disabled though oil hit.
on film: yes, wish i had a host and i could post them.
best moment:various manouvers mainly rolling scissors for around 2 mins and eventually the 109 is on my tail, so i hit full flaps and drop the gear, he sails right by and i *curses* stall out trying to pull up for the easy shot. then we comence the turning again. eventually he hits a good deflection on my oil.

Hog vs Jug
Ki-67 vs F6F
190 vs P38
goon vs 109 (hahah dont ask!)

i fly the 109f most of the time, spit 5 makes a nice matchup w/ spit9 also, niki ki61, ki84, i have found no real advantage when its 1on1, i think pilot skill plays alot into this as well, in most instances i can hold my own against these plane as w/ many others:) tired of the ole spit match up tho, that is why i choose to fly 109f just to be different,

Without doubt the three best plane matchups are:
190A-5 vs P-47D-11 (the best by a wide margin IMO)
F6F vs N1K2
FM2 vs Hurri IIC

Another good one I forgot is the 190A-5 and the Spit IX. Those are the most "dissimilar" of the matchups I chose, but it really comes out pretty even so long as the A-5 is not flown in a "Joust and Extend" (TM) manner.

Had great fights flying the Ki-61 vs. Yak9U and La7. Also had a great on-the-deck fight in the C.205 vs. La7. I also like the 109G-10 (w/ gondies) vs. B-17 matchup. :)

p38 vs a6m in stall fight is wicked, and can usually be won.
P38 vs Spit9, nothin but good fights.
I think a 190 vs a p38 is really kind of a joke, unless its a zoom competition, otherwise p38 will rip it apart under 200mph.
fm2/spit9 is also good.

A6M5 vs F4U-1C
It's great.

Thats why we run the "C-Hog vs A6M5" set up twice a month. It used to be the A6M2 but it turned to good.

Yup, the A6M5 was way too Uber for the Chog to handle. From now on CT Pac setups will only allow the A6M2 unless the Allies get the F4U-4 or the Tempest so they can cope with the A6M5.

I was in a great Tempest vs. 51D matchup last night. Went on for quite a while. Wasn't slow, a lot of looping and trying to turn into the other's circle. Eventually the temp got a snapshot. Seemed pretty equal though. My only complaint (being in the pony) was that I couldn't get up enough speed in the merge....

oh, and last night I had a blast dodging a typhoon with my stuka. I guess he ran out of fuel, because he ended up landing, and I blasted him on the ground.

Virage is a great flyer! had one of them stale mate type fights but he won out in the end, got to admire the way he can fly that 109G2!

P-38 will beat a FW-190 in a zoom fight.
