Title: HT, need ports fixed
Post by: whels on December 04, 2004, 11:07:08 AM
HT, since AH2 came out ports have been broke kinda.
whn u drop a bomb at a port u get water splash , no matter
where bomb lands.  i think it also what makes the port acks
so much harder to kill then other field acks.

now that u have changed supplies to be not able to drop on water. u cant resupply ports at all.
no matter where u drop a supply crate it vanishes, because it
thinks its on water.

actualy, quite a valid point.  If the recent changes in resupply has made it so you can't resupply a port, it needs to be fixed.

I ALSO hate the darn near unkillable ack on ports.  When I sweep in w/ a 110, w/ 4x20mm 2x30mm and hit an ack gun, and it doesn't die, that pretty much sux.  I've found you almost have to use rockets, or eggs to kill port acks most the time.  It's been quite rare that I can go in and gun down port acks.

Needs 2b fixed IMHO

p.s. this is bearing in mind that I have NO issue or trouble killing acks on airfields, strat bases ec, only ports.

Title: What are you trying to kill ack with?
Post by: TiGerZ on December 08, 2004, 10:44:48 AM
Today I flew along with the RT's.  No problem with killing ack.  Heck, others were using 50 cals in jugs.

I do suggest maybe a plane like an A5 with plenty of cannons.  I have to admitt I pounded them heavily.

Gone are the days of 50 cal bursts to kill ack.

   But, more importantly, I would rather see normal resupply time at port, than instant ack abuse that is the root of the fix.   I understand Whels, when you have the advantage, you take it.  But, the chatter in Rookland, was that you were a much better player than that.  We were surprised  (almost stunned that you were exploiting the obvious game flaw).   A tribute to that, you easily killed my Tiger, this morning from a concealed location (never saw it coming).  Now, that's good game play  .:aok

Thank you, folks at HiTech for living up to your word about taking care of Port issue.  I think, that you can tell by the # of posts, which flaw has the greater impact on gameplay and more importantly :D customer satisfaction.:aok

 I said "heck"

This, i think, is not an issue on ALL maps, just some.
Title: Bomb Splash
Post by: TiGerZ on December 09, 2004, 08:59:24 AM
:(  Whels, I do believe that you might have something with the bomb splash.  During the same RT raid on the port.  I do recall an altiitude bomber recording an incredible "no kill" on the VH.  We heard the bombs whistle but absolutely no ground or water effect noticed.   On second attempt, the same sort of thing occured.  I was not the bomber, so can only relay what I saw, and it wasn't pretty.  The rest of us carried on the Port destruction with great success, jabo style.
  Sorry, I missed that point on the 2 previous posts.:D

I have also noted that when I drop a bomb on the ack which is located out on the pier that instead some other structure on the the other side of the field blows up (secondary explosion). It was on equinox map, I think P150 or so.
