is there a way to alter them? I'd like to check out those clouds I see in the screen shots, and sneak in a little IFR practice. Thanks

Yes, check HTC's download page for the HTC weather editor. You can make any kinds of weather pattern you would like for offline play. :)
Be sure to read the help files and such. There will be a bit of learning required to get it going, but the info is all there and it's relatively simple after you play with it a bit.

Here's some info that I had put together that may be useful.

Thanks for the info, I've been playing around with it and love the results. Nothing better than a thick overcast to set the mood for a European terrain. Can't wait to set up some zero zero conditions and see how "fun" it was for those guys to land in the weather before the days of autopilot -coupled ILS. Now when I fly in an online room using a terrain to which I've added weather, it should show up only on my computer, right? If so,I guess I need to temporarily move the .awa terrain file and leave the .res terrain file where it is to avoid flying into clouds that only I can see. Any thoughts?
