The whole arena sucks....disco after disco....lag after lag...update after update....reset after reset...
That sounds like Microsoft.
Mystic communication problems....mystic problems in encoding...mystic updatings.....
Is HTC feeling retro?:(
....or just suffering the lack of resources and money?
If yes, please, let us know that well before we have to confirm our next month fees...
-
Have you run a pingplot to see whats going on between you and the server? Scuzzy would be the person to engage with this observation.
-
Yep....I know the ping stats.
Its not the question about ping stats only....its the question about the whole game and the encoding in it.
-
BTW, I never want to be arrogant , if u think so...
sry for that impression...
I just wanna have a good and fair play.
;-)
-
My apology, hope you and Hitech can work this out.:)
-
Or it could be isolated to you.

Really?
I have balls to say:
I did it wrong..sorry, Skuzzy!
So far it seems to be, all those problems are concerning into one local carrier...

LOL and that first post you made shouldn't lead us in this direction? All this is, is flatout flaming of HTC and all their efforts to better gameplay. They will work with you to fix it, and they have great customer service, otherwise, I'd just hit that "delete account" button now and save us all the BBS complaining. :aok
-
ok..
-
do a traceroute to htc's aceshigh server (sorry don't know the hostname or ip address but you can find that out from skuzzy)
I serously doubt the route from across the globe is good.
-
The "customer service" is a quite negotiable thing...
I really agree with You in the most points of of your attention.
But....We, the people outside of the english world, have to go on with the products and services for "english-spoken .people-only..."
-
Zuum.
Your signature needs a spelling correction.
How about:
"If God hadn't meant us to fly, he would have created us with roots"...
;)

So...The neck is Savvis.net
Link (http://www.rubricum.com/files/savvis.jpg)

Thank You for correct spelling!
:aok

Well, I hate to concur, but...I concur to some extent. This map is great, but it SUX.
Its a real ***** to work together, defend a base, sink the cv and have the same GD CV on your doorstep in 15 minutes. The CV's not being handed over after a port is taken and cv killed is a killer.
Dive bombing level bombers really ****IN SUX as well.
-
When my route hits Savvis.net the time jumps from 16 to 62 for my connection round trip. At the MA Arena choice connection speed I fluctuate from 62-73. I don't know if Scuzzy has ever thought it neccesarry to discuss this increase in round trip time with Savvis.net when our packets hit their network.
You are not the first person I have seen this increase with on their ping plot hitting Savvis.net. Understandably you can see why it does not affect me.:)
-
Have you run the PNG program ? And there is no problem from you to HTC Site? You can also Check routers in different contry's at http://www.internettrafficreport.com Hope it all works out :aok

Yeah well... I was feeling frisky =)

Here's my ping stats, there's packet loss at Savvis.net:
Oh, and normal ping times (MA) are at around 150 ms.
-
I have endorsed someone carpet-bombing Savvis HQ for years. The brief outages on the net would be well worth the end result after everyone shifted around the holes in chicago and st louis.

Or not,
ping is 20ms but the staters, a few discos, invisible gvs, and frame rates below 15, vox loss, etc continue on these big maps. Could it be memory? I only have 256 RAM and 256 Video. Small maps fps is above 40 and no staters. (it may not be the large maps and only be OZ and the current one, not sure about it)
(edit) Forgot to mention the unloading of half a 110s ammo on a plane at d200 with 0 to very little damage.
PC has been optimized as far as services and processes running in the back.
-
ded...you ram ..is wayyyyyyy lo
btw..i have never have vox problems..
BUT I do have mnay stitter..and lo FPS problem..which i relaly hate and wears thin..
I will continue to pay HTC..and hopefully it will smooth out in the next few months..if not..then i cancell..and find another game ..if there is one

Peace, my friends, peace...:D
Ok, first of all...I never mentioned to provoke anybody. I was too heated and frustrated while wroting the lead of this discussion.
I have to apologize everybody, who feels himself as hurted or insulted...
A big SORRY for You, fellows. And a big Sorry especially for You, Hitech, too.
No hard feelings?
And now, to the point....
The frame rates are telling something about encoding...
My "Messerschmitt" is:
-AMD Athlon 3000+
-Radeon 9800Pro 256Mb
-1024Mb Ram
+the rest of things...no extra processes running etc, etc...
I have tuned that system a lot...and, btw, I use the MSFS(Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004) as an indicator of encoding. As a testbed, there is a big number of freeware add-on sceneries available...
In the MSFS, with the combination of the following; Resolution 1280x1024x32, the worst possible "amateur-encoded-3D-scenery" and the maximum settings of the VGA-card
I will get constantly 35-40 FPS at least...(if u dont believe, I can send You videos captured by FRAPS). That is LOT!!!
In the AH II...which is visually( I mean ground) a really poor and ancient program(compared to MSFS), I get usually 15-25 FPS, temporarely, even, lower than 15 fps....at the ground level. In the skies i get normally 40-60 fps...and thats ok.
Is it really worth of it to encode every possible leaf in the trees? Or...could you optimize the code to reproduce the visual reproduction somehow?
Summa summarum...when I make a conclusion about this and those numerous "weird incidents" at MA (just like today, when my 3xB-24 formation was killed suddenly without a reason. No shooting, no enemies around or any other logical reason to loose them...just a text message"You have been killed"....and I was located in tower.) Maybe, that was a touch of God...
I really wish and hope that HTC is working haaaaaaard to solve this all.
With my honest and best wishes,
Zuum

Hmmm Zuum I'm not sure whats going on with your system.
I've got
AMD 2500+
Radeon 9800 pro 128
ram = 512
And in AHII lowest i get is around 30 fps on the ground and I get upwards of 100 in the air. Your system specs appear better then mine but you seem to be getting lower rates????
As to the ping's posted here. My average ping using pingplotter comes in at just over 300.
Drops to about 190 and varies as high as 240 when I hook up to HTC.
And I'm here in the U.S.
I was having, and from time to time still have, a terrible time with savvis.net too!
Packet loss for me from time to time is a real issue and the LAG!
It can be very annoying to hit a con and see little or even NO damage.
It's even more annoying when what you see is NOT what you get.
You fire at the con and the con jumps/micro warps out of the way.
Con on your 6 or comin in on your 12 and on your front end that con HAS NO SHOT! Nose is off by 20 degrees or more and BAM! You're going down! You don't even see the tracers till AFTER you've been hit then there all around you.
MOST FRUSTRATING.
So to anyone reading this maybe now it is understandable why I tend to extend so much.

Wonder, why my graph from yesterday didnīt appear....
Anyway, here is the normal situation:

I serously doubt the route from across the globe is good.
i disagree, im in the UK and havnt had a disco or CTD for over two months to my knolegde. maybe the odd PC toubles, but as far a global networks go, i'd say HTC has it sorted.

The route has been good for the last couple of days now. But from tuesday (Dec 7th) night to wednesday (Dec 8th, European union time...) there were some packet losses, and they weren't over the Atlantic line - they were at Chicago. Now my pingplotter to ma seems to go as usual, no problems whatsoever. So it has probably been a net problem... Hopefully Zuum will calm down now. ;)
edited: correct dates changed - had my tuesday at 6th... :)
