Whose kids have more sex US or Europe?
Now I am going to make some assumptions here.
Assumption one: The US being pretty Christian pushes for abstinence and it is less open about sex then most European countries.
Assumption two: European countries are more liberal and open about sex so it is more of a normal thing.
So does anyone have statistics for who’s children are having sex and getting pregnant more often?
I was under the impression that Europe had less then us, but I have no idea were that came from. Stats for the Major countries in Europe would be great. I did not have much luck with Google.

trying to find the best place for you to get lucky on your next kiddie porn trip?
-
Edit, I removed the LoL, I think I am kind of insulted by that Bodhi, I hope you meant it as a joke but thats not very funny.
Just interested to see if the idea of being more open about sex is not as bad as some think it is.

I took it as opening up the subject of whether or not sex education and discussion leads to more sexual responsibility in teens.
But of course a republican comes along to display his fascination in sexual deviance - yet again.

Well the US is the creators of the fine series as Girls Gone Wild and College shreck Fest.
You should download some of those series before you make any "christian" remarks.

Whats forbidden and tabo, is often a incentment to do it more.

Plot the kiddy sex rate vs. percentage of african immigrants...
-
Well, I will try to add something to this. President Bush wants more money to be spent on teaching abstinence, I say it should be spent on teaching consequence.
-
I think Christian is the wrong word. America is and has always been puritanical. There's a difference.
-
Tweety
I think that may be what I was going for puritanical..

Yes that is exactly were I was headed with this.

Teens are teens. They have to grow up, learn by their own mistakes.
Nothing you will tell them or what you try to "teach" them regarding to the sex topic will register.
You have sex ed in class, and then they go home and watch MTV or some reality shows and then the sex ed class is forgotten.
You have to change the media if you want to change the behaivior of teens...
And thats hard.
Sex sells.

Instead of these rediculous reality shows, maybe they should do one on teens who become pregnant, how their lives are changed and the hardships and responsibilty they never realized before they became pregnant.

They're actually starting to show these on MTV now. I didn't believe it until I actually saw one. Was done in a sort of documentary style, but it pushed the virtues of safe sex pretty vocally.
Also, the news (the ultimate doomsayers) have been reporting that abstenance is on the rise in highschools & colleges. I'll see if I can dig up a link.

Yeah, I think they kind of go hand in hand. You see the consequences, you practice abstinence, or at least safe sex. By instinct, you become aware of sex a teen, it's an uphill battle as a parent, you need all the help you can get.

I disagree. Now I'm not saying one or two sessions of "the talk" is going to make a responsible teen, but a good parent role model and many sessions of talking about the benifits of a strong family (i.e., a couple that wants to be togethe and aren't just thrown together because of a pregnancy) will probably make a dent.
But, I agree, one can preach all they want. If it isn't backed up by daily example, its not worth much. Kids are a blank slate. They learn how to be bad and they learn how to be good, and they learn mostly from examples.
